After a good while, the Ghost King flipped the tripod, and Luo Yunji was tossed out of the Dragon-Subduing Tripod. His eyes spun wildly, and he could no longer tell east from west.
The Ghost King put away the Dragon-Subduing Tripod and steadied Luo Yunji. "Are you still going to bully my daughter?"
"She... she's doomed. I'll bully her when we get back... bully, bully!" Luo Yunji slurred out his threat, still dizzy.
He didn't notice the Ghost King's lips curling up in delight.
"Let's figure out what's going on here first. How did heaven and earth get turned upside down?"
Once Luo Yunji had recovered, the Ghost King hurriedly spoke up first, hoping to divert his attention.
"What do you mean, turned upside down? It's pitch-black here. How can you tell?" Luo Yunji clutched his chest, feeling nauseous.
The Ghost King heard him and whipped his head around to look again. The sky was still beneath them and the ground above. He was sure of it! And he was certain this wasn't an illusion.
"Are you sure your eyes are working?" The Ghost King trusted his own judgment. He turned to Luo Yunji, puzzled, and checked his eyes as well.
"Your eyes are the ones that aren't working!" Luo Yunji was just as certain that what he saw was real.
That settled it. Since neither of them sounded like they were pretending, whose eyes were seeing the truth?
"What do you see?" the Ghost King asked, trying to figure out which of them had a problem—or whether they had both fallen into a trap.
"Same as before! Pitch-black." Luo Yunji clutched the Ghost King's sleeve, using it to keep himself afloat.
