Although he had failed to completely remove Dumbledore's curse this time, it was not as though he had gained nothing. At the very least, Silvan had learned from Snape that someone at school wanted to kill Dumbledore.

The first person Silvan thought of was Malfoy.

That was only natural. Lucius Malfoy had lost Voldemort's Horcrux, and that diary had not only become Silvan's possession, but had also caused Voldemort no small amount of trouble.

During last year's Christmas break, Bellatrix had taken Silvan to the marshes. If the diary had not been able to block the Avada Kedavra, Silvan would have been killed long ago.

Voldemort had seen all of that with his own eyes—how could he possibly let Lucius Malfoy off after he had lost one of his Horcruxes?

So, as punishment, he had ordered Draco Malfoy to carry out an impossible task. That was perfectly normal.

But from what Snape had said, it seemed that Malfoy was not the only one who wanted to kill Dumbledore.

Who else could there be besides Malfoy?

Silvan did not know, but he was certain they were all Slytherins.

Crabbe, Goyle, Zabini, Pansy Parkinson, Theodore Nott—

Silvan thought of several names that might be connected to the Death Eaters, but there were simply too many.

Among students in his own year alone, there were five or six people he knew of, and Slytherin had seven years' worth of students.

Especially now that Voldemort had loosened his requirements for Death Eaters and recruited more so-called pure-blood wizards. Their children might well have been in Slytherin.

After giving it some thought, Silvan decided to start with Malfoy. At present, Malfoy was at least the only person worth suspecting.
