After getting rid of the Weasley brothers, Silvan continued toward the exit.
At the doorway, he ran into Snape, who seemed to be waiting there for someone.
Maybe it was Harry. After all, Hogwarts was already on holiday. Once today was over, they wouldn't see each other again for two months.
Preoccupied with other things, Silvan walked right past without noticing Snape's gaze fixed on him.
He even failed to notice Harry hurrying up behind him.
Snape's lips moved. Just as he was about to say something—
"Severus, I've been looking for you." Dumbledore came over from the other side. "I'd like to visit a few old friends over the holidays. Would you come with me?"
"Anyone could do that. Why does it have to be me?" Snape narrowed his eyes.
"You must know what happened last night." He suddenly lowered his voice and gripped his wrist tightly. "I couldn't mistake that face. But you told me he'd escaped from the Dungeon Classroom!"
"Severus, I swear I wasn't lying," Dumbledore said.
"I believe you, of course I do..." Snape's expression shifted. "But Ollivander went to the Dungeon Classroom too. Maybe he knows something we don't!"
"He didn't enter the Final Room," Dumbledore said after a moment's silence.
"But—"
"Severus, we can't assume what happened that night had anything to do with Silvan based on speculation alone." Dumbledore cut him off.
The next moment, Harry happened to reach the doorway and curiously glanced at the two men standing there.
It was a rare sight: Hogwarts' headmaster personally seeing a student off.
Harry smiled at Dumbledore. "Goodbye, sir."
"Goodbye, Harry." Dumbledore smiled back.
"Now then, Severus, I think the most important thing is finding a new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor." He turned to Snape. "Would you help me?"
