When Silvan and the others returned to the common room, their conversation once again turned to Voldemort's attack on the Ministry of Magic.

Harry still could not understand what could possibly be so important that Voldemort would charge in without hesitation even knowing Dumbledore was there.

But this time, Silvan had no answer, because he could not figure it out either.

And according to the Daily Prophet, Voldemort and Dumbledore had fought in the main hall this time, rather than on the sixth floor like before.

Of course, it was also possible that Voldemort had not made it there yet before Dumbledore stopped him.

There was something else Silvan found rather concerning.

When Rufus Scrimgeour had died last time, the Daily Prophet had devoted nearly half its front page to listing his contributions as an Auror and later as Minister for Magic, moving countless people.

But in this issue, aside from Pius Thicknesse's name in the headline, there was no further mention of him at all.

Was it because he had held office for too short a time and had no contributions to list?

And—

Silvan picked up the newspaper and looked at it again—Minister for Magic Pius Thicknesse was struck in the back by the Killing Curse and died on the spot!

Struck in the back—those words were interesting too. If Silvan remembered correctly, the Killing Curse was not supposed to turn corners.

He told Harry and the others about his discovery, and they quickly understood what he meant.

The three stared at one another, but neither Harry, Hermione, nor even the usually carefree Ron said a word. They were all unusually quiet, unwilling to voice their thoughts or suspicions.

Fortunately, someone approached them at that moment.
