Background / History

He kept the rat Scabbers as a family pet for years, only to discover that it was actually the Animagus and traitor Peter Pettigrew. Ron initially rejects the revelation, then accepts it with anger and a sense of betrayal. 242 251
Personality
Ron is enthusiastic about magic, Quidditch, and exciting magical items, but financial limitations repeatedly frustrate him. He eagerly tests a newly made wand, wants to join the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and is drawn to the goods at Dervish and Banges despite being unable to afford most of them. 16 452 479
He is impulsive and outspoken, particularly when his friends or family are insulted. He throws a crocodile heart at Draco Malfoy after Malfoy mocks Harry, and later punches Malfoy for insulting the Weasleys during Percy’s arrest. 205 415
Ron often avoids extra academic work in favor of leisure, such as Wizard’s Chess, and is initially uninterested in spending free time learning the Patronus Charm. Despite this, he is deeply loyal: he worries over Scabbers, rushes to write home when Percy is cleared, and wants to help search for his injured father. 205 242 499 527
