Chapter 744: Taking the Dursleys Away

The doorbell rang, but that utterly ordinary sound made the Dursleys act as though they were facing a great enemy, as if some terrifying creature stood outside. The three of them sat there stiffly, with no one making any move to answer the door.

Harry hesitated in the attic, then left his room and came downstairs.

It was probably unrealistic to expect Hestia and Dedalus to handle the Dursleys on their own, even if they had already informed them that they needed to leave.

"Good morning, Harry." The moment Harry opened the door, a gentle voice came from outside. It belonged to a small man wearing a pale purple top hat.

"Hello, Dedalus," Harry said. He remembered the man. During the battle at the Department of Mysteries, he had been badly injured by a Death Eater's spell.

But he appeared to have recovered now, and quite well at that.

Harry then instinctively looked behind him, searching for Hestia, the other member of the Order of the Phoenix.

He had been told that the two of them would be taking the Dursleys away today, to keep them from getting caught up in the fighting between the Death Eaters and the Order of the Phoenix.

Yet Harry did not see the dark-haired witch from his memories. Instead, he saw someone else who was far too familiar.

"Silvan?" His eyes widened in surprise. "You—you, how did you—"

"Surprised?" Silvan looked at the speechless Harry and explained, "The people who were originally coming got held up by something else. I told Mad-Eye Moody I wanted to help, so he assigned me this job."
