When Silvan arrived in the downstairs sitting room, the dining table was already full.
Kingsley Shacklebolt, head of the Ministry of Magic's Auror Office, sat at the far left, in the most conspicuous seat.
He was injured. One arm hung limply at his side, while half his face had turned an unnatural purplish red. Up close, the veins in his neck could be seen constantly twitching.
The Cramp Curse was a type of Dark magic. It was certainly not as painful as the Cruciatus Curse, but it lasted much longer. Without the specific counter-curse, that cramp-like pain could persist for almost an entire day.
Clearly, Kingsley did not know the counter-curse and could only endure it. The unnatural purple coloring on his face was probably another unknown form of Dark magic as well.
Silvan entered the sitting room and flicked his wand. A blue unicorn that seemed to carry starlight appeared out of thin air and passed straight through Kingsley's body.
"Ah!"
With a scream, Kingsley convulsed and collapsed onto the table, cold sweat nearly soaking through his robes. Yet his complexion miraculously returned to normal, and the veins that had been throbbing in his neck fell still.
"Thank you, Silvan," Kingsley said weakly.
Through the changes in Lupin and Dumbledore, the Order of the Phoenix had long known that Silvan possessed a special kind of magic capable of restraining every known form of Dark magic.
But only after experiencing it himself did Kingsley realize that this magic was far more miraculous than he had imagined.
He had been hit by at least three different Dark spells, and every one of them had proven troublesome even for an experienced Auror like him.
Yet Silvan had taken just one second to set him right.
Of course, the side effects were obvious.
