Malfoy had long guessed that Silvan would not let Crabbe and Goyle off, so when Silvan asked him for the password to the Slytherin Common Room, he was not surprised at all. He had even prepared for it long ago.
"When are you planning to make your move?" he asked.
"Why do I get the feeling you're even more anxious than I am?" Silvan looked thoughtfully at Malfoy. "They used to be your lackeys too, didn't they? Don't you feel anything at all?"
Malfoy remained silent. After a moment, he let out a self-mocking laugh.
"They are the finest Death Eaters, and Death Eaters do not need feelings—when are you planning to make your move?"
"Soon."
"How can I help?"
"Go report it."
"Fine—wait, what did you say?" Malfoy suddenly froze, staring doubtfully at Silvan as he walked toward the door.
"What did you just tell me to do?"
"Go report it." Silvan chuckled. "Go find Alecto Carrow and tell her that someone plans to attack Crabbe and Goyle tonight."
"I'm not joking with you, Ollivander." Malfoy's expression darkened. "You don't need to test me. Since I agreed to help you, I won't—"
"You misunderstand." Silvan shook his head, cutting him off. "Draco, of course I don't doubt you, but I really do need you to report it."
"Why?"
"To make Carrow lower her guard."
Malfoy looked even more confused. He could not understand why reporting it himself would make Alecto Carrow lower her guard.
Normally, it should make Alecto more cautious, shouldn't it?
Silvan did not explain. He merely added, "Oh, right. Remember not to say it was me. Just say it was a Gryffindor with an overwhelming sense of justice."
Although Malfoy still did not understand, Silvan looked so serious that he did not ask any further questions.
