"Harry, are you sure we haven't come to the wrong place?"

In the early hours of the morning, on some unknown street, Ron stared at the gloomy old mansion on the distant hillside. Instinctively taking a few steps back, he said, "That really doesn't look like a place anyone would live."

"That's perfect. We're looking for a snake, not a person," Hermione's voice came from behind him.

She moved to the front and carefully surveyed the scene before them—it was a village, not very large, about the size of Hogsmeade.

At the highest point of the village stood a fairly imposing house, but the waist-high weeds surrounding it and the vines crawling over its walls made it obvious that no one had lived there for a very long time.

"Harry, is this the place you mentioned before?"

"That's right." Harry, at the back of the group, seemed to be confirming something. Only after hearing Hermione did he shift his gaze away from the old house.

"Little Hangleton. Riddle Manor."

"Riddle." Ron smacked his lips. The name sounded familiar somehow, as if he had heard it somewhere before.

"Tom Riddle—the Dark Lord's name!" Hermione took a deep breath, trying to hide her shock.

"The Dark Lord!" Ron's expression changed.

He remembered now. Riddle had been the Dark Lord's original surname—which meant they had actually come to the Dark Lord's old lair?

Just thinking about it made Ron's legs start to tremble. He did not want to take another step forward.

"Harry—Harry, are you sure that snake is here?"

"Honestly, I can't be certain Nagini is hiding here." Harry hesitated, then gently shook his head. "But there's a strong possibility. I remember what the walls looked like. They're exactly the same as what I saw before."
