Five years later.
Outside the Bewildering Grand Canyon, at the camp.
"You're saying the Saint Child only came out five times in these five years?"
"Yes, my lord."
Hu Liena, who had already advanced to Soul Power level fifty-one, was questioning the other soul masters at the camp, trying to learn about Lin Bei's situation.
She frowned and continued asking, "When the Saint Child came out, did you see whether he was injured?"
The soul master shook his head. "No. In fact, every time the Saint Child came out of the canyon, he was stronger than before. The last time we saw Saint Child Your Highness, two years ago, he had already reached the Soul Douluo rank."
Xie Yue and Yan, who were listening nearby, widened their eyes.
Yan asked incredulously, "The Saint Child became a Soul Douluo two years ago?"
"Yes. That was also the last time the Saint Child came out of the canyon. We haven't seen him since," the soul master said.
Hearing this, Hu Liena frowned slightly, a trace of worry flashing through her eyes.
He came out for the last time two years ago, and then never returned... Could something have happened to Junior Brother inside?
Xie Yue saw Hu Liena's worry and comforted her, "Don't worry, Na Na. If it's the Saint Child, nothing will happen to him. After all, he has those beans. You know how powerful those beans are!"
The soul master nearby was utterly confused.
Beans? What beans?
Hu Liena knew exactly which beans her brother Xie Yue was talking about.
Over the past five years, they had encountered several crises in the Bewildering Grand Canyon. Each time, they had nearly died. If Lin Bei's Magic Beans had not saved their lives, they would have long since become feces in the stomachs of soul beasts.
So they knew very well how miraculous those beans were.
As long as they were not killed instantly, the Magic Beans could save their lives.
They were absolutely lifesaving artifacts!
Xie Yue and Yan were both thinking that once Lin Bei came out, they would ask him for more.
Hu Liena, Xie Yue, and Yan waited at the camp for another three days.
They still did not see Lin Bei emerge from the Bewildering Grand Canyon.
Hu Liena, who had already been somewhat worried, became even more anxious. Even Xie Yue and Yan began to feel a trace of restlessness.
Could something really have happened to the Saint Child in the canyon?
This thought involuntarily surfaced in Xie Yue and Yan's minds.
Just as Hu Liena was staring at the canyon's exit, longing desperately for him to appear, a tall, powerfully built figure finally walked out of the boundless mist.
He had long, glossy black hair, simply tied into a bundle with a grass rope and hanging down his back.
Beneath his slightly disheveled hair was a handsome, striking face with sharply defined features, sword-shaped brows, and bright, star-like eyes. As his gaze shifted, a captivating divine light seemed to flow through them.
His sturdy, slender body was as beautiful as a divine sculpture crafted by an ancient Greek artist, filled with the beauty of strength.
He stepped out of the mist, the fog swirling behind him and lending him an ancient, mysterious air.
"Junior Brother!"
When she saw who it was, Hu Liena cried out joyfully. She hurried to him, and the worry that had plagued her for days made her throw herself without hesitation into his sturdy chest.
The soft sensation left Lin Bei slightly awkward.
"Uh, Senior Sister, I'm fine."
Lin Bei smiled as he spoke.
That's right. The young man who had walked out of the mist was Lin Bei.
Although he was only twelve years old now,
the Soul Power of the Douluo World had a maturing effect. As his Soul Power increased, his body reached maturity far faster than his age would have suggested.
Hu Liena released Lin Bei, her eyes moist as she smiled. "I thought something had happened to you."
"What could happen to me? Look, I'm perfectly healthy."
Lin Bei flexed his biceps.
Hu Liena's face flushed slightly.
She had just personally felt how sturdy Lin Bei was. The sharply defined muscles beneath her touch had made her cheeks grow hot.
"Saint Child!"
Xie Yue and Yan walked over.
"Saint Child, did you succeed?"
Yan asked curiously.
He was somewhat bothered by Hu Liena hugging Lin Bei, but he did not dare lose his temper.
As he spoke, he deliberately inserted himself between Lin Bei and Hu Liena.
Lin Bei glanced at Yan.
During the five years he had spent training in the canyon, his senses had been honed to an extraordinary degree.
Even though Yan had tried his best to conceal it, Lin Bei still sensed the anger and jealousy in his heart.
Was it because Hu Liena had hugged me?
It probably was.
In the original story, Yan had always pursued Hu Liena.
But Hu Liena had never been interested in him and had never let him succeed.
Later, Hu Liena fell in love with Tang San in Slaughter City.
Yan could be considered one of the more tragic characters in the original story.
Lin Bei sighed inwardly and patted Yan on the shoulder.
He did not answer Yan's question. Instead, he directly displayed his soul rings.
Nine soul rings abruptly rose from beneath Lin Bei's feet:
Black, black, red, black, black, black, red, red, red.
A terrifying aura poured down like the Milky Way cascading from the Ninth Heaven, pressing the entire camp into deathly silence.
Many low-level soul masters were forced to their knees by the aura that suddenly erupted from Lin Bei, unable to move.
Even Hu Liena, Xie Yue, and Yan felt as though they had been caught in a storm, continually forced backward by the aura emanating from Lin Bei.
Four Hundred Thousand Year Soul Rings?!
Upon seeing the four red soul rings on Lin Bei, everyone's eyes widened in disbelief.
One had to know that even the current Pope, Bibi Dong, possessed only one red Ten Thousand Year Soul Ring on her first martial soul.
Yet Lin Bei now had three additional Hundred Thousand Year Soul Rings besides the third one bestowed by the Angel God. How had he obtained them?
Could there really be so many hundred-thousand-year soul beasts in the Bewildering Grand Canyon?
Could it be...
As if she had thought of something, Hu Liena's expression suddenly changed. She asked in shock and suspicion, "Junior Brother, you didn't go deep into the Bewildering Grand Canyon, did you?!"
Lin Bei withdrew his soul rings and smiled. "That's right. Two years ago, I entered the depths of the canyon. These three Hundred Thousand Year Soul Rings came from there."
"The depths of the canyon?"
Everyone stared at Lin Bei in astonishment.
That place was as dangerous as the depths of the Star Dou Great Forest, one of the most perilous regions on the continent!
Many years ago, the Spirit Hall had sent five Titled Douluo into the depths of the Bewildering Grand Canyon to investigate. Not one of them had returned.
From then on, that place had become forbidden ground for all soul masters, and no one had dared to enter it again.
Lin Bei had actually dared to enter the depths of the Bewildering Grand Canyon and return safely with three Hundred Thousand Year Soul Rings. Should they praise his courage and fearlessness, or call him recklessly bold?
How terrifying!
Everyone looked at Lin Bei with awe in their eyes.
Fortunately, he was their Saint Child, not their enemy.
"Welcome back, Saint Child!"
Unable to suppress the thunderous pounding in her chest, Hu Liena dropped to one knee and shouted toward Lin Bei.
The others froze for a moment, then followed her example, kneeling on one knee and shouting toward Lin Bei, "Welcome back, Saint Child!"
Their resounding cries spread throughout the camp and drifted into the canyon.
