Background

Ji Juechen was born to an ordinary Soul Grandmaster with an iron sword martial soul and a non-soul-master mother. He learned swordsmanship by watching his father train, inheriting his father's conviction that no martial soul was inherently useless. His own sword martial soul awakened with only Rank 3 innate soul power. 93

His father died after joining the army during border conflict, and his mother later succumbed to illness after the family exhausted its money on treatment. At fourteen, Ji Juechen attempted to replace the core of his iron sword martial soul with meteorite iron he had found as a child. The attempt initially shattered his martial soul, but his determination formed sword intent, pushed his spiritual power into the Spirit Sea Realm, and fused the meteorite iron with his damaged origin. 93
