Background

Wang Dong first enters Shrek Academy as Huo Yuhao's dormitory roommate while disguised as a handsome boy. She immediately imposes five rules on him, including making him responsible for cleaning the room, on the grounds that she is stronger. Huo Yuhao rejects her view of strength and challenges her to a duel. Despite her two soul rings, she is knocked unconscious by a single Spiritual Shock and is carried back to the dormitory by a teacher. 5

She joins Grade 1, Class 1 with Huo Yuhao and becomes the center of attention among the female students because of her appearance. Although she and Huo Yuhao initially barely speak, she gradually becomes curious about his diligence and unusual strength. 6 8 When Huo Yuhao returns with a ten-thousand-year third soul ring, she asks how he achieved it and attempts to become his friend, but he remains distant. 14

During the freshman assessment, Wang Dong is placed in a team with Huo Yuhao and Xiao Xiao. She and Xiao Xiao defeat Zhu Lu and Cui Yajie while Huo Yuhao confronts Dai Huabin, helping their team secure victory. 16 17 After the assessment, she hopes to apologize for their conflict at the beginning of the term, but Huo Yuhao moves to Sea God Island before she can properly reconcile with him. 23 30

Tang San begins directly interfering in her life to draw Huo Yuhao closer to her. He first grants her a portion of the Butterfly God's divine power, then forcibly fuses divine consciousness and childhood memories into her Spirit Sea. The process causes her extreme pain for three days, drains her vitality, and leaves her emotionally numb after Tang San seals away parts of the traumatic memory. 15 30

After accepting her memories, Wang Dong returns in female attire and challenges Huo Yuhao for the captaincy of the Shrek tournament team. She uses the Clear Sky Hammer, the Rampaging Wind Hammer Technique, and Purple Demon Eye, but Huo Yuhao defeats her again with his Martial Soul Avatar. Recognizing that her soul is unstable and that her memories are being absorbed by Tang Wutong's, Huo Yuhao intervenes to stabilize her consciousness. 31 32

Tang San later integrates a portion of the Love God's law into Wang Dong's Spirit Sea, intensifying her attachment to Huo Yuhao. 50 By the time of Huo Yuhao's birthday gathering, she is referred to as Wang Dong'er and remains conscious of the conflict between Huo Yuhao and Tang San. 71 72

At first, Wang Dong is proud, domineering, and dismissive of those she considers weaker than herself. She treats strength as sufficient justification for commanding Huo Yuhao and reacts contemptuously when he challenges that belief. 5

Her defeats and Huo Yuhao's rapid growth gradually turn that arrogance into frustration, curiosity, and regret. She wants to understand him, attempts to make peace, and feels that their missed chance at friendship was caused by her own earlier behavior. 14 30

After receiving divine memories and external laws, her feelings toward Huo Yuhao become increasingly entangled with manipulation. She craves his attention and feels calm around him, but Huo Yuhao recognizes that her unstable soul and altered memories are influencing her emotions. 32 50

By Chapter 136, Wang Dong is isolated and unsure whether she is truly herself, Tang San's daughter, or merely a fragment of Tang Wutong's divine consciousness. Her loneliness is compounded by the disappearance of the Clear Sky Sect, Xiao Xiao moving away, and the distance other Shrek students keep because of Tang San. 136
