Background / History

The sect is introduced as a major immortal Dao institution whose Origin Spirit Art can temper the spirit, a necessary step toward the Mystical Ability Realm. Its inner disciples cultivate three principal inner sect arts: the Origin Spirit Art, Chaos-Cavern Breath-Absorption Art, and Righteous Qi of Heaven and Earth. 15 28 41

By the time Fang Yu arrives, the Eclosion Sect controls several dynasties and attracts recommended candidates from noble clans and imperial families. Its outer disciples number in the hundreds of thousands, while inner disciples number only around three to five thousand; true disciples are limited to one hundred and eight. 85 89

Feng Baiyu, then the supreme headmaster, establishes the Extraterritorial Demon Battlefield as a trial ground intended to draw in Heavenly Demons and temper disciples. The battlefield becomes the decisive assessment for advancement into the inner sect. 133 89

Hua Tiandu’s faction

Hua Tiandu serves as the sect’s chief true disciple and later a vice sect master. He repeatedly conflicts with Fang Yu and Fang Qingxue, seeks authority within the sect, and proposes handing Fang Yu and Fang Han to the Great Unity Sect in exchange for Immortal Realm quotas. 136 278 308

His influence expands when he recruits chief disciples from independent outer-realm sects and has them join the Eclosion Sect as true disciples, weakening the Jialan Society’s standing. 301

The Hua Family

The Hua Family was historically the sect’s ruling bloodline; past supreme headmasters came from the family, and the upper ranks were once almost entirely composed of Hua Family members. 530 531

Even after the Feather Emperor rose to power, the family retained roughly sixty percent of the sect’s influence. It secretly agreed to outside demands that Fang Yu be expelled and surrendered in return for assistance against the Feather Emperor. 531

The Feather Emperor’s faction later eradicates the Hua Family within the sect. Its members, bloodline, immortal artifacts, pills, spirit veins, and other assets are removed or redistributed. 537
