"Who are you, and why do you disturb my slumber?" The majestic voice echoed through Alpha's mind for a long time. "Hmm? I sense a familiar feeling from you. That is my power. How nostalgic."
Upon hearing this, Alpha was no longer confused. He knew he had found what he sought. The one answering him was none other than Goldrinn, the Wild God. "Great Wild God Goldrinn, I am Alpha, a worgen. I now need your power to help me."
"A worgen, my power... You are far too weak. Even Lalaier could not master my fury. What do you rely on?" The majestic voice resounded.
"On the fact that I can speak with you clearly right now, instead of losing myself like Lalaier and being ruled by rage," Alpha said firmly.
The voice pondered Alpha's answer for a moment. "And what of it? You are still too weak to bear my power. But since you have such confidence in yourself, I shall grant you a portion of my strength. How much you obtain will depend on your will." Before Alpha could react, an immense pressure crashed down upon him. He was instantly forced to the ground, the blood vessels across his body bursting. Before long, Alpha's fur was dyed bright red.
Beside Moon God Lake in Moonglade, Alpha's change caught Hamuul's attention. Seeing blood splattering from Alpha's body, Hamuul hurriedly cast a healing spell while attempting to wake him.
In that mysterious place, Alpha gritted his teeth and endured, trying to stand. But the pressure was simply too overwhelming. He could not move his arms at all, and it felt as if his entire body were being crushed. Alpha refused to admit defeat. After countless attempts, he finally managed to lift himself slightly off the ground, only to be pressed back down again. Just as his strength was exhausted and he was about to fall unconscious, a force surged up from within him. Though it was only a tiny amount, it gave Alpha a brief chance to catch his breath.
The majestic voice sounded once more. "Oh? You have not fainted yet. Your willpower is quite impressive. Little one, someone is trying to wake you. Since you have accomplished this, I shall give you power. It is what you deserve. I will return to slumber. Young worgen, accept my blessing." Alpha's vision went dark, and he sank into darkness.
"Alpha, Alpha." Who was calling him in the darkness? Alpha struggled to find the source of the voice. A point of light appeared in the distance, and Alpha chased after it. Just as he was about to seize that light, he saw what it truly was—a moon.
"Alpha, you're finally awake. How do you feel? Do you feel any different? Is there anywhere your body still hurts?" Hamuul asked anxiously.
After regaining consciousness, Alpha recalled the last words he had heard before passing out. Excitedly grabbing Hamuul's sleeve, he said, "Mentor Hamuul, I succeeded. I found Goldrinn, the Wild God. I found him."
Upon hearing this, even Hamuul, the well-traveled Archdruid, lost his composure. "What? You truly succeeded? Wonderful! Tell me quickly, where did you find him?" Alpha himself had no idea where that place was, so he could only tell Hamuul everything he had seen and heard.
After listening, Hamuul thought for a while before saying, "If I'm not mistaken, the place you described was the Emerald Dream. As for the figure you saw, it should have been a Dream Guardian, a member of the Green Dragonflight."
Alpha stared at Hamuul in astonishment. "I never thought I had entered the Emerald Dream and even encountered a dragon." Hamuul suddenly became serious. "Alpha, do not tell anyone that you found Goldrinn, the Wild God. No one. As for the Emerald Dream, I will tell you the details, but not now. For now, get some rest..." Before he could finish, he saw the burst wounds on Alpha's body slowly beginning to heal. His originally ash-black fur was gradually being replaced by a layer of silvery-white fur, though only a little. Looking at that silvery-white fur, Hamuul said, "It seems you have received the Wild God's blessing. Stay here and familiarize yourself with your power. Remember what I said. Do not tell anyone. I'm leaving for a while." With that, he transformed into a bird of prey and flew away at high speed.
Alpha watched Hamuul fly away and murmured, "The Emerald Dream, guardian dragons... Why is Goldrinn, the Wild God, in the Dream?"
Two days later, Alpha, still familiarizing himself with his new power, received a letter and bade farewell to Mentor Hamuul before leaving Moonglade.
The teleportation circle lit up, and Alpha returned to the worgen settlement in Darnassus. But at that moment, every worgen capable of fighting, male or female, had rushed to the battlefield. Only children and the elderly remained. After finding the guards stationed in Darnassus, Alpha learned the latest situation:
Ashenvale had now been divided between the two factions, with both leaders appearing on the front lines. Alliance—Varian Wrynn. Horde—Garrosh Hellscream. The Alliance occupied Astranaar in the north, while the Horde occupied Splintertree Post in the south. Neither side was willing to relinquish its claim to this territory.
Since the dispute began, the two sides had clashed more than a hundred times. Casualties had reached over ten thousand, while the total forces committed had reached a million. Even now, troops continued to pour in without end.
However, when he asked about the worgen army led by King Genn, the elven soldiers said there was still no news. They said King Varian had authorized them to act independently, and there had been no battle reports concerning them so far. After hearing this, Alpha saluted and hurried away.
Using the teleportation circle, he arrived at Rut'theran Village once again and found it under full alert as well. Troops were stationed everywhere. He learned that this was the last line of defense and also the transfer point for Alliance forces. Troops sent from the Eastern Kingdoms received the best possible recovery here before boarding transport ships for Darkshore. Darkshore was also on alert, with most of the Alliance army stationed there. Beyond Darkshore lay Ashenvale, the front lines of the war and the encampment of the vanguard.

Alpha had no time to waste on the road. He had to reach Ashenvale as quickly as possible and understand the situation at once. With that in mind, Alpha directly presented his identity as a Druid and requested to ride a hippogryph. The feeling of using privilege was quite nice. Sitting on the hippogryph's back, Alpha looked back at Teldrassil behind him and sighed.
Compared to hippogryphs, Alpha preferred gryphons. Hippogryphs felt far too gentle and lacked the gryphon's bold ferocity. As such, Alpha had little fondness for these creatures that were neither quite deer nor quite birds.
Forget it. This was an emergency, and there were not many resources to spare. Thinking that, Alpha could not help wishing that he could learn to fly himself, transforming into a bird of prey like Mentor Hamuul.
A day later, Alpha rode a hippogryph to Astranaar in Ashenvale. As soon as he entered the territory, several gryphon riders flew over. After confirming his identity, they allowed him through. From them, Alpha learned where the worgen were stationed and guided the hippogryph there.
The hippogryph's flapping wings whipped up the tents with loud rustling, and the people inside hurried out at the disturbance. When Alpha saw King Genn emerge from within, he immediately breathed a sigh of relief and directed the hippogryph to land nearby. Once it had settled, Alpha jumped down at once, ran to the king, and said, "Alpha, Sir Lang Tu, reporting for duty."
King Greymane patted Alpha on the shoulder. "Darius told me everything. Well done, and thank you for the opportunity you secured for Gilneas. Gilneas is proud of you."
Alpha quickly replied, "It is my honor, King Genn. Why don't I see Lord Darius?" Greymane answered, "He led part of the troops out on a mission. Come inside. I'll tell you the details."
