As the leader of the Sentinel forces, the fearless Priestesses of the Moon embodied the power and grace of Elune, the ancient moon goddess of the Night Elf faction. Clad in silver-glimmering armor and riding fierce white tigers into battle, these priestesses wielded enchanted bows and would never yield to any evil force invading Night Elf territory in defense of their homeland.
Her peerless beauty and the burden she bore had worn away the passion once in her heart. For the honor of the Night Elf faction, draw your Moon Goddess's Bow and pierce the heavens!
In the game Warcraft on Earth, Tyrande, the beautiful Priestess of the Moon from the Moon Temple that worshipped the moon goddess Elune, was a legend alongside the demon hunter Yudian. In that life, she possessed both exceptional beauty and status. In her youth, both the demon hunter Yudian and his brother, the Keeper of the Grove Farien, had loved her. Yet as the Priestess of the Moon of the Night Elf faction, she might have felt something for the two brothers when she was young, but as she grew older, she came to understand her own responsibilities. Thus, she faced everyone with an icy expression every day, whether friend or foe.
Roar! A tremendous tiger's roar suddenly rang out from within the Altar of Elders, instantly echoing through the entire forest.
As the roar faded, a massive tiger's head slowly emerged from the Altar of Elders, followed by the white tiger's entire body. Seated calmly upon its back was a female Night Elf clad in silver armor and holding a silver longbow, her face expressionless. The white tiger slowly walked out. The female Night Elf quickly spotted Huang Long and the others standing not far away. She urged the tiger forward and slowly approached Huang Long, then nimbly dismounted and walked straight up to him. She performed an ancient ritual of the Night Elf faction, making several strange gestures with her hands. Still, Huang Long understood most of it. Priestess of the Moon Tyrande was showing him respect.
Having inherited quite a few strange memories of the Night Elf faction, Huang Long naturally knew something about these ancient Night Elf rituals. Seeing Priestess of the Moon Tyrande perform the gesture, he returned it in kind.
The difference was that the ritual Tyrande used was that of a subordinate greeting a clan chief, while Huang Long used the ritual of a clan chief addressing a member of the clergy.
"Priestess of the Moon Tyrande greets the honored chief of the Night Elf faction, Huang Long." Tyrande looked at Huang Long without the slightest expression on her face. Forget respect—there was not even a trace of emotion, as though she were looking at a stranger, like a robot carrying out some unknown program.
Hearing the tone in Tyrande's words, even Huang Long frowned. Although he was usually fairly kind to his subordinates and did not care much for putting on airs, being treated so coldly by one of his own subordinates would make anyone unhappy. It was just like a student treating a teacher or a subordinate treating a superior that way. No matter how capable a student or subordinate was, they were still under their teacher's or superior's authority. Who was she putting on that cold face for?
"Ina, Elisa, take Tyrande and your squads to kill all the Warcraft on the island. Go and return quickly. Yudian, you stay behind." Though Huang Long was displeased by Tyrande's attitude, he was not angry enough to lose his head and calmly issued a series of orders.
"Do your best to raise her level to four or five. If there isn't enough, then forget it." Huang Long ignored Tyrande's expression and simply continued giving orders.
"My apologies, Chief. As the Moon Temple's priestess of the moon goddess, I do not need to obey your commands. Furthermore, the Huntress unit is my personal force, so please do not casually interfere in the affairs of the temple, all right?" Tyrande said stiffly, with no expression on her face. She merely gave Huang Long a faint glance, clearly not taking him seriously at all, and Huang Long's anger flared.
"Tyrande, remember this!" Huang Long stepped forward, his nose nearly touching the beautiful face of the Priestess of the Moon. "The Night Elf faction is no longer what it once was. Now, I alone hold its reins. Though I respect you ancient heroes, and some of you were even my childhood idols, I will never permit even a single elf to defy my orders. Even if you are a priestess of the moon goddess, you are no exception. Tyrande, do you understand?"
"Your reckless arrangements will bring down the punishment of the moon goddess." Tyrande stared unblinking into Huang Long's eyes. Her tone remained as indifferent as ever, devoid of all emotion and cold as ice.
"The moon goddess?" A mocking smile appeared on Huang Long's face. "Our Night Elf faction was abandoned by Elune long ago. Praying to her is completely useless. If you don't believe me, try it."
"You're lying! Elune would never abandon her people. Never!" The expressionless Tyrande immediately showed fury upon hearing Huang Long's words. As a priestess of the temple, even though she had lost most of her memories, her reverence for the moon goddess had long been carved into her bones. Hearing Huang Long say such things, no matter how calm she was within, she could not suppress the turmoil in her emotions and roared in anger.
"You don't believe it? Use the Moon Temple's special method to contact Elune and pray to her. See what happens." Huang Long sneered as well, completely unconcerned by Tyrande's roar.
In Huang Long's mind, thorough brainwashing was essential. Every elite hero from the ancient Night Elf faction possessed extraordinary status and their own obsessions. Unless he shattered and rebuilt that fragment of ancient pride within them, Huang Long could never make these proud heroes submit to him completely, rather than merely being forcibly restrained by the Warcraft Elf System.
In the ancient Night Elf faction, the demon hunter Yudian had been someone who was never welcomed. Though he had made many contributions to the Night Elf faction, he had repeatedly been misunderstood by its people. Yet Yudian was proud by nature and disdained to lower his head and explain himself, so he eventually left the Night Elf faction and earned a lifetime of infamy. Later, however, when the Night Elf faction faced danger and Priestess of the Moon Tyrande was in peril, he still set aside his grievances with his own brother and joined the Night Elf forces to save the Night Elf faction once again.
Therefore, obtaining the loyalty of the demon hunter Yudian was simple. So long as he was given absolute and sufficient trust, there was a great chance of earning his loyalty. Of course, Huang Long had only learned the reason for this at the moment he subdued Yudian.
As for the ordinary heroes summoned now, they were even simpler. They were new lives born from ordinary souls, completely lacking any trace passed down from ancient times. Coupled with the modifications of the Warcraft Elf System, which instilled the concept of absolute loyalty from the start and created bodies no less gifted than those of elite heroes, these ordinary heroes addressed Huang Long as Master from the moment they appeared.
As for Tyrande, Huang Long did not know much about her yet. Since he did not know for the time being, he made several guesses. The most likely one was that he first had to break the divine shackles Elune held over Tyrande's heart before he could have a chance of gaining the loyalty of Priestess of the Moon Tyrande. Otherwise, as the moon goddess's priestess, Tyrande would forever be loyal only to the moon goddess.
"Lord Yudian, what should we do? This lady doesn't seem to respect Master at all. She keeps contradicting Master again and again. Shouldn't you teach her a lesson?" Lucy showed some displeasure as she spoke to the demon hunter Yudian. Although Lucy wanted to teach Tyrande a lesson herself, she was not even an ordinary hero. If Priestess of the Moon Tyrande rose to prominence in the future, she would surely cause trouble for Lucy over today's matter. It would be better to let the demon hunter Yudian do it.
Yudian felt Tyrande's continued efforts to pray, and his fists tightened. He shook his head and said calmly, "The chief knows what he is doing. As subordinates, we should not interfere."
Lucy nodded at his words and said nothing more.
"How can this be? Elune would never abandon the Night Elf people who revered her most. Why can't I contact her? Why?" Tyrande's face had flushed slightly, something that only happened when she was extremely nervous. When Tyrande had prayed just now, she had not sensed even the faintest trace of Elune's divine power. Such a result was impossible for her to believe. After repeatedly checking and finding nothing, Tyrande's heart sank deeper and deeper.
A cold smile appeared on Huang Long's face, but inwardly, he was constantly considering how to completely shatter Tyrande's devotion to the moon goddess. He could not help speaking.
"You needn't keep searching. We are no longer on that fallen Lordaeron Continent."
