Whoosh! Whoosh! Arrows gleaming with a cold light shot from the Night Elf faction's archers, instantly burying themselves in the ugly monsters before them.
"Keep killing! Sisters, hold the line!" Archer Captain Ina shouted to the team. At the same time, she loosed an arrow and killed a strange creature that appeared immensely powerful. Yet astonishingly, after these strange creatures died, they did not leave behind corpses. Instead, they turned into clouds of black smoke and vanished from the ground.
"Lucy, Elisa, think of something quickly! Otherwise, we might be wiped out here today!" Archer Captain Ina frowned and shouted at the two beside her.
Lucy, standing nearby, wore a conflicted expression. Cold sweat streamed down her face as she hesitated inwardly.
"Hold on, Captain. We have to hold on. Give me a little more time to think." Lucy's forehead was drenched in sweat. The situation before them was exceedingly dire, yet she still could not think of any way to deal with it. That was difficult for Lucy, who had always considered herself clever, to accept.
There were only twenty-three of them, and some members of the group were relatively low-level. Yet the vicious creatures before them seemed endless. As soon as they killed one batch, another quickly surged forward. They were practically impossible to kill completely. Lucy felt as though she had fallen into a pitch-black space, unable to see even the slightest dawn of escape and survival.
"Ina, announce that you are handing your command over to me." Suddenly, Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon, spoke from nearby. Her tone was calm. What was even more surprising was that Tyrande showed no sign of panic despite the desperate situation.
"You? Do you have a solution?" Archer Captain Ina looked at Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon, and a gleam flashed through her eyes. The Priestess of the Moon's strength was beyond doubt. No matter the time or place, it had long been deeply ingrained in the heart of every Night Elf. Therefore, Archer Captain Ina had even more confidence in Tyrande than in herself. At the very least, Ina believed that when it came to commanding troops in battle, she was far inferior to Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon.
"That's right, me. Hand the troops over to me. I may not be able to get you all out of here, but I can guarantee that these vicious creatures will not break through our defensive line anytime soon." Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon, looked calmly at Archer Captain Ina as she spoke.
"Anytime soon? How long can we hold out?" Archer Captain Ina frowned slightly upon hearing Tyrande's words, unable to understand. Tyrande's guarantee left Ina quite dissatisfied.
"I don't know either. If that master of yours arrives in time, perhaps he can still save our lives." Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon, calmly watched the stronger vicious creatures in the distance. Holding the Moon Goddess's Bow, she glanced sideways and casually fired an arrow. Its horrifying accuracy instantly pierced through the creature's head. The creature's body fell to the ground, turning into ashes that dissipated into the air.
In this brief period of slaughter, Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon, had actually soared to Level 4. Her rocket-like rate of advancement was simply astounding, unbelievably fast.
"Damn it, why are there so many powerful Level 6 creatures?" Archer Captain Ina showed a trace of unwillingness. She truly could not accept that a dignified Level 7 powerhouse like herself might fall among this group of low-level creatures. Such a death would be far too humiliating.
"Fine! I agree. Archer squad, heed my command! From this moment onward, obey the orders of Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon. There must be no mistakes!"
"Yes!" Five Level 6 archers led by Lucy answered in unison. The situation had become perilous to the extreme. There was nothing but slaughter after slaughter. Fortunately, Lucy had been cautious and, to guard against emergencies, had stored a large supply of Moon Well water in Archer Captain Ina's Hero Space. It was thanks to that ample supply of Moon Well water that the Night Elf warriors had enough stamina to keep fighting.
If they had not been able to replenish themselves with Moon Well water, they would likely have been wiped out at the very beginning of the battle. However, after repeatedly replenishing their stamina and mana for some time, there was not much left. Therefore, Archer Captain Ina had long since ordered them not to waste their stamina and mana carelessly, so they could resist for as long as possible.
Now, however, it seemed Archer Captain Ina's choice had undoubtedly been correct. With those provisions, the Night Elf faction's troops had already held out for quite some time.
"Good. All units, heed my orders!" After hearing Archer Captain Ina's words, Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon, fell silent for a moment and closed her eyes slightly. "I have not yet reached Level 5, so I have no skills that can help you for now. But everyone must follow my instructions. Only then can we barely withstand these vicious creatures' attacks."
"Huntress squad, follow Elisa. Elisa, compared to the archers, your attack power and agility may not match theirs, but your reaction speed and defensive capabilities are both superior. Move to the very front of the line immediately and block the vicious creatures' attacks. Even if you die, you must stop them in their tracks."
"Archers, your agility may be much higher than that of the Huntresses, but in this kind of team battle, no matter how good your agility is, it will not be enough. Stay within the Huntress formation. Do not waste too much stamina showing off your superior evasive abilities. Use your arrows more, and kill the most enemies with the greatest efficiency."
"Ina, as the strongest person here, you have only one purpose now: whenever you spot any vicious creature above Level 5, eliminate it immediately at the fastest speed possible. You absolutely cannot let them slip into our formation. Otherwise, the casualties will be unimaginable!"
Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon, issued one orderly command after another, each with a clear purpose. Her troop deployments seemed divinely inspired. The several groups that had previously fought somewhat independently gradually converged, and all the squads began cooperating with one another. Their efficiency in killing enemies increased severalfold. Though it was still negligible compared to the number of vicious creatures before them, the danger facing the squads was greatly reduced.
Seeing this sliver of hope, Ina, Lucy, and the others were immediately invigorated. They unleashed their strength once more, and the low-level vicious creatures before them turned into clouds of black smoke and disappeared.
Whoosh!
At that moment, a golden light suddenly burst from Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon. She let out a low roar, feeling wave after wave of comfort spread from her bones and meridians. After killing numerous low-level vicious creatures, along with a small number of Level 5 and Level 6 creatures, Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon, had leveled up once again, reaching the same level as Yudian, the Demon Hunter.
Skill acquired—Trueshot Aura Trueshot Aura: Increases the attack power of all allied ranged units near the Priestess of the Moon.
Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon, revealed a faint smile. A strange ripple instantly spread from her body, enveloping the surrounding Huntresses and archers.
Archer Captain Ina shuddered as a powerful force instantly flowed into her body. Ina felt herself grow much stronger. Not only had her attack power increased considerably, but even her range had expanded significantly. Feeling this power, Ina was shaken. She knew that the unique nature of the Priestess of the Moon's legendary class had finally revealed itself.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Arrows flashing with cold light shone brilliantly in the hands of every archer and Huntress. Vicious creatures that had previously survived a single strike were now pierced through by one arrow. Some archers and Huntresses even shot creatures farther away through the throat, killing them in a single blow. Seeing this, the Night Elf faction's troops surged with morale, and their combat strength rose several levels at once.
"What should we do? We still have Moon Well water, so we can continue holding out for now. But once the Moon Well water runs out, our situation will truly become dire." Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon, saw her troops' strength rise sharply as they slaughtered enemies like weeds, their fighting spirit high. Yet instead of feeling pleased, her brow furrowed ever more tightly.
"At this rate, we'll consume magical arrows faster and faster. That will only make us fall into a passive position even sooner," Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon, thought to herself.
"Everyone, follow the original plan. Do not seek to kill the enemy. Only make sure these vicious creatures do not cross our line, and avoid unnecessary consumption!" Having thought this through, Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon, immediately gave the order.
Tyrande's words shook Archer Captain Ina and Lucy, instantly pulling them from their delighted intoxication. A layer of cold sweat immediately formed on their backs.
Ina and the others had been careless. Under the enhancement of Trueshot Aura, they had seen their killing speed grow faster and faster, and the experience they gained seemed to increase as well. They had fallen into the temptation of power, continuously wasting their mana, forgetting that their most important task was not to kill enemies or increase their strength, but to hold back the vicious creatures' attacks and delay until Master Huang Long arrived to rescue them.
"The Priestess of the Moon truly is the Priestess of the Moon. Even amid the exhilaration of such rapidly increasing power, she can preserve that shred of clarity. In that regard, I really cannot compare to her." Looking at the high-spirited Tyrande, the Priestess of the Moon, Ina's eyes revealed a trace of admiration.
