Background / History

Nestworld was the Babel Swarm’s original hive planet, transformed after the swarm exterminated every other species on its homeworld. Its surface is dominated by swamps, acid rivers, toxic spores, poisonous gases, and swarm-controlled microorganisms. 1 4

After the Babel Swarm’s defeat in its earlier galactic war, Lu Shang was transported to Nestworld when the former Swarm Overmind’s attempt to release the sealed Void God failed. The former central brain deemed Lu Shang useless and abandoned him there while a Galactic Alliance fleet prepared to destroy the planet with a Planet-Crushing Colossus. 1

Lu Shang discovered that his brain was connected to Nestworld’s psionic network, allowing him to understand swarm creatures and share the senses of all swarm organisms on the planet. After he proposed combining large numbers of Behemoth brains to generate a planet-scale warp bubble, Nestworld escaped the Galactic Alliance by traveling faster than light. 2 5

The swarm creatures subsequently recognized Lu Shang as their brain core after he demonstrated a viable path to survival. Under his command, Nestworld became the foundation of an expanding independent Babel Swarm force rather than rejoining the new Overlord immediately. 4 12

Appearance

Nestworld is a planet-scale biological hive built around swamps, subterranean caverns, and interlinked swarm organisms.

• Acid rivers, toxic spores, poisonous gases, and organic hazards cover its surface. 4
• More than 12,000 vast underground caverns were distributed across the planet by the time Lu Shang began reorganizing it. 5

Nestworld links its swarm organisms through a psionic network that permits shared perception and rapid coordination.

Faster-Than-Light Mobility

Nestworld became the first documented Babel Swarm hive planet to travel faster than light.

• A normal warp bubble cannot remain stable on a planet because planetary mass interferes with spacetime; Lu Shang bypassed this limitation by combining many Behemoth brains. 2 5
• Behemoth brains retain their ability to bend spacetime even when removed from their bodies, making them suitable as distributed warp-bubble generators. 5
• The escape shocked the Galactic Alliance, whose records stated that Babel Swarm psionic organisms only reached Level Ten and could not move a planet at faster-than-light speed. 6

Nestworld can pool the power of its psionic brains to manipulate matter across physical barriers.

• More than 200,000 psionic brains on Nestworld overwhelmed several hundred Level Ten Behemoth beasts and forcibly dragged them from orbit to its surface. 11
• Its psionic brains can immobilize hostile swarm organisms after worker bees report their positions through the network. 11
• Psionic power can move objects remotely without being blocked by warship armor; Lu Shang developed this principle into the “Psionic Grip,” crushing enemies inside armored vessels. 10

After the escape, Lu Shang sought formal recognition from Nestworld’s swarm creatures rather than relying on their temporary obedience. They accepted him after he promised to lead the swarm more effectively than its former brain cores. 4

Expansion and Defensive Reorganization

Nestworld became the base from which Lu Shang ordered the incubation of Behemoth brains, deployment of worker drones to lifeless planets, and development of organisms capable of gene editing. 5 6

Repelling the Hostile Overmind

When an opposing swarm overmind sent Behemoth beasts to seize control of Nestworld, its psionic brains forced the attackers down from orbit and suppressed their ground forces through coordinated network responses. 11
