"Brats of Hidden Sand, behold the might of this sage!"
"Hatake Sakumo! Come die!"
The two shouts rang out almost at the same time. On Konoha's side, a streak of white hair shot forward; on Hidden Sand's side, a puppet dropped from the sky, with a woman following behind it.
"Eh, who's that?" Jin asked Minato Namikaze and Fugaku beside him curiously. Mainly because there were only so many people in Hidden Sand who used puppets, and the one up ahead looked a little familiar, but he just couldn't remember.
"Hidden Sand's Chiyo. Senior Sakumo killed her son and daughter-in-law." After Minato explained, he flashed to Jiraiya's side with the Flying Thunder God.
Fugaku gave one instruction, "Take care of Mikoto," then also vanished to command the Uchiha Clan in battle.
"Seriously, why is every single one of them in such a hurry?" Jin muttered with a pout, then shuffled over to Sakumo and... Uncle Snake.
Jin timidly greeted Orochimaru, except his brain short-circuited... "Ha... hello, Uncle Snake~"
"Mm?" Orochimaru froze for a moment and subconsciously looked at Sakumo. Sakumo also looked at Jin in confusion.
"Heh, interesting." Orochimaru smiled, but the sound of his laugh made Jin's scalp tingle.
Below, the two sides were locked in a fierce battle, throwing all kinds of ninjutsu as if they cost nothing. Screams, cries for help, and explosions rose and fell one after another, while blood rose like raindrops and then fell again...
For the first time, Jin had a direct sense of what war was like. Just watching it made him physically unwell, and he unconsciously frowned and took several steps back.
Sakumo watched all of Jin's reactions, but neither reminded him nor said anything. After all, some things had to be experienced personally.
"You've never killed anyone with your own hands?" At some point, Orochimaru had come within a shoulder's distance of Jin.
Jin looked over. The wind swept past, slightly stirring Orochimaru's long hair, and his cold, quiet voice entered Jin's ears. "In the ninja world, if you've never killed anyone with your own hands, you won't grow at all, even if you're a genius."
"Does a genius have to kill?" Jin asked, not understanding. Orochimaru had only one sentence, but it echoed through Jin's mind. "A genius doesn't necessarily have to kill, but one who can't kill will definitely become a fallen genius."
Every word of Orochimaru and Jin's conversation fell into Sakumo's ears. Only after the two ended their exchange did Sakumo come to Jin's side and hand his own White Fang to Jin.
"Go. Join the real battle. Experience what it truly feels like for a life to end in your hands," Sakumo said softly.
Jin hesitated as he looked at the White Fang Sakumo was offering him, wavering over whether to take it or not...
"If you have someone you want to protect, then you must learn how to fight. Death won't wait for you to go looking for it. It will only come looking for you without a sound," Orochimaru spoke again.
In the end, Jin still woodenly took the White Fang short blade. Only, as he stepped toward the battlefield, he asked a question from the soul. "Um... Master, I don't know how to use a short blade..."
"..."
A gust of wind blew over, leaving Sakumo and Orochimaru standing there in total disarray...
"Senior Sakumo, aren't you afraid of pushing him too hard?"
"Just as you said, precisely because he's a genius, he needs to experience these things," Sakumo said with confidence.
"Lightning Release: Purple Lightning Thread!"
A kunai carrying faint purple lightning brushed past Minato's ear and killed the Sand Ninja behind him.
"Jin? Why are you here?" Minato was a little surprised. He had thought it would be some time before Jin went onto the battlefield.
"I was forced." Jin held back the nauseating stench of blood in the air and took a new kunai from his ninja tool pouch, gripping it in his hand.
"Damn Uchiha! Go! Die!" A voice full of hatred rang out. The dying Sand Ninja who had been lying by Jin's feet suddenly raised the short blade in his hand and stabbed at Jin.
Not good! Minato thought, wanting to rush over and knock Jin down... but the other party was too close. So close that even the Flying Thunder God would not make it in time...
"Swish—"
"Urgh..."
Blood slid down Jin's face. Jin stared at his own hands with widened pupils... his kunai was buried deep in the other party's neck, as if it had stabbed into a major artery. All his hands could feel was a rush of heat passing over them...
Blood gushed out like a fountain and splattered onto Jin. Minato hurriedly stood guard beside him. Dazing off on a battlefield was not a good thing.
"I... I killed... killed him?" Jin murmured to himself, as though unable to believe everything happening before his eyes. All he could see was a field of red, and his five senses seemed to be gradually disappearing.
He did not know how long had passed. It was as if someone far away was calling his name, getting closer... closer...
"Jin! Jin! Jin!"
Everything before his eyes became clear. Jin numbingly raised his head and discovered many people standing in front of him... his master, Orochimaru, Jiraiya, Tsunade, Kato Dan, Fugaku, and Minato crouching beside him. They were all looking at Jin with concern.
"Jin... your... your eyes..." Minato was the first to speak. Jin looked at Minato in confusion, his voice a little hoarse. "What's wrong?"
"Two-Tomoe Sharingan! Jin, you... you awakened it!" Fugaku blurted out, his heart filled with incomparable excitement and shock.
"Is that so." Jin only felt as if all the strength in his body had been drained away. The next second, his eyes rolled back and his eyelids closed. His whole body collapsed into Minato's arms.
"I'll take Jin to my place." Kato Dan took Jin from Minato's arms. Tsunade followed behind Kato Dan. After all, Kato Dan had not come from a formal medical ninja background, so it would be safer for her to examine him herself.
"Minato, then I'll trouble you to take Jin's place and lead their squad to complete the mission," Sakumo instructed, while inwardly not knowing how to face Jin.
And the one who blamed himself the most was Minato Namikaze. Although he knew that when members of the Uchiha Clan awakened the Sharingan, their combat power would rise greatly, once their eyes awakened, it proved that an Uchiha had experienced severe trauma...
If this left Jin with any lingering aftereffects, he would never be able to forgive himself. Likewise... Jin had the same way of thinking.
Only Fugaku looked happy, after all, awakening two tomoe at once was enough to prove Jin's talent.
"So this is the Sharingan? It really is beautiful." Orochimaru murmured to himself...
"Captain Minato? Why are you here? Where's our captain?" Seeing that the one who had come was Minato, Morikawa Hotaru could not help feeling a little curious.
"Oh, Jin... Jin is a little tired, so he went back to rest first," Minato said with an unnatural expression. Mikoto, who was good at reading expressions, quickly caught a trace of something unusual on Minato's face.
Worried that Jin had been injured, Mikoto no longer cared about Minato's status and said directly, "Hello, may I ask if Jin was injured?"
"No, he's just... feeling a little unwell, that's all." Minato hurriedly shook his head. The Sharingan that had almost reached his lips was changed to feeling unwell because he was afraid that maybe Jin did not want others to know he had awakened the Sharingan.
Seeing Minato's reaction, Mikoto was only certain that Jin was not injured. As for the part Minato was hiding afterward, it seemed she could only ask Fugaku.
During the follow-up cleanup work, Minato was distracted the whole time, and Mikoto also only wanted to hurry up and finish so she could go find Fugaku and ask him clearly.
Only Furuno Tetsuji complained by himself, "I became a ninja, not to handle cleanup work! I came to charge into battle and kill enemies!"
