Background / History

At thirteen, Minato serves as a chunin on Konoha’s front line and leads a squad comprising Morikawa Hotaru, Furuno Tetsuji, and newly graduated Uchiha Jin. He immediately defends Jin’s place on the team, insisting that teammates must be able to entrust their backs to one another. 3

During the mission to recover Kato Dan from Sunagakure, Minato infiltrates the village with Jin, subdues a gate guard with genjutsu, and refuses to leave Kato behind when the village enters lockdown. He ultimately draws the Sand ninja away so Jin and Kato can escape, then reunites with them during their flight. 6 7 He later summons Gamabunta and combines the toad’s oil with Jin’s Fire Release to break through Sand Anbu forces. 8

Minato fights alongside Jin and Fugaku in the later stages of the Sand conflict. In the Land of Water, Minato coordinates operations with Anbu leader Jin and later handles negotiations with Kirigakure alongside him. Personality
