Background / History

Sakumo served as Konoha’s commander on the front lines during the conflict with Sunagakure. He received Uchiha Jin and Uchiha Fugaku at the command center, accepted Jin as his future disciple, and assigned him to Minato Namikaze’s squad. 3

He formally took Jin as his disciple after Jin’s first battlefield mission, insisting that Jin address him as “Master.” Jiraiya considered Jin capable of surpassing Sakumo in the future, a judgment Sakumo received with pride. 5
