Hero of Sunagakure

Following the Third Kazekage’s disappearance, Pakura is dispatched to strengthen border patrols and help search for him. On the western border, she fights Hidden Stone reconnaissance and infiltration teams, as well as rogue ninja exploiting the disorder 27 28.

Later stationed on the poorly defended eastern coast, she intervenes when Hidden Mist attackers overwhelm a Sunagakure outpost. Her Scorch Release disperses their fog and halts their assault, allowing the defenders to counterattack. The victory establishes her reputation as the Hero of the Hidden Sand and makes her a major source of village morale 36.

Rasa’s Betrayal

Pakura’s popularity and battlefield achievements alarm the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa. She belongs to no faction directly controlled by him, and her upright, unyielding temperament leads her to question some of his decisions. He secretly negotiates with the Fourth Mizukage, Yagura, to have her killed in exchange for concessions in their border conflict 56.

Rasa sends her to Soul-Severing Valley under the pretense of contacting a secret peace envoy. Believing the mission could prevent further deaths, she accepts without suspecting him. Hidden Mist ninja ambush her, seal the exits with water-prison walls, and wear down her chakra. The Sunagakure ANBU ostensibly sent to support her then attack her with poisoned kunai 56 57.

Narong intervenes before she is killed, subdues the attackers, and uses genjutsu interrogation to expose the agreement between Rasa and Yagura. With her faith in Sunagakure shattered, Pakura accepts his offer to leave and build a new force. Sunagakure subsequently conceals the circumstances of her disappearance 57 60.

A New Home in Kirigakure

Pakura settles into Narong’s household and helps care for Haku. After more than half a year living together, her gratitude toward Narong develops into affection. She maintains the home during his missions and helps Haku practice shuriken throwing and dodging 62 66 80.

Their relationship becomes explicitly intimate after Narong’s return from a prolonged absence. He begins calling her his wife, and she becomes central to his growing sense of home and belonging 81 82.

Rasa’s assassination plot leaves her devastated, angry, and briefly willing to stop resisting. Her decision to follow Narong combines a desire for revenge with the need to regain purpose, dignity, and a place where her loyalty will be valued 57.
