The fleet traveled on the Yellow Dragon River for most of the day, and evening drew near.

The river wind, laden with the fishy stench of water, rushed into their faces. The setting sun dyed the turbid river a dark red.

Before long, a small island appeared in view.

It was an island in the middle of the river, known by the local fishermen as "Broken Dragon Island."

The island's terrain was perilous, with hidden reefs densely scattered all around it. Only one waterway allowed approach.

The island was thick with trees. Through them, several rows of wooden houses and a tall watchtower could vaguely be seen. A black flag flew from the tower, embroidered with a ferocious dragon baring its claws and fangs, snapping loudly in the river wind.

"My lord, the water bandits' stronghold has been spotted ahead!" a constable stepped forward to report.

Lin Mu's spirits rose. He strode to the bow, drew his longsword, and pointed its tip at Broken Dragon Island. His voice was icy. "Full speed ahead. Attack the island!"

The three large ships spread into formation and rapidly closed in on Broken Dragon Island.

Xu Qing leaned forward slightly, his gaze passing over the bow and settling on the steadily approaching island. The sky was darkening, and dense forest covered the island, making it impossible to see clearly.

"Jiaolong Stronghold." Captain Qi walked over, his tone turning cold. "Water bandits who have occupied the Yellow Dragon River for more than a decade. Several of their leaders are Dark Force experts, and they have gathered dozens of men under them. The authorities have tried to suppress them several times, but never managed to wipe them out."

Lowering his voice, he warned, "Stay close to me once we're on the island."

Xu Qing nodded.
