Whether Titan Keepers or Dragon Aspects, the reason they were so powerful was because of the power the Titans had bestowed upon them.
However, Titan power was limited. As the earliest Titan Keepers, they had gone through all kinds of brutal battles, and their Titan power had now been greatly depleted. That was why their recent performance had been so poor.
The Dragon Aspects' Titan power, however, had barely been expended.
To date, it had only been used a handful of times.
The first time was during the War of the Ancients, when four Dragon Aspects infused Titan power into the Dragon Soul.
The second time was when three Dragon Aspects blessed Nordrassil, the World Tree planted atop the Well of Eternity.
The third time was when Malygos, the Spell-Weaver and Blue Dragon Aspect, blessed the reborn Sunwell.
And now came the fourth time. Alexstrasza, the Red Dragon Queen, and Ysera, the Green Dragon Queen, bestowed their blessings upon the nightmare-corrupted World Tree Teldrassil, hoping to suppress the corruption.
But with the Titan power Alexstrasza and Ysera had left, they could use it at most one more time before becoming as depleted as the Titan Keepers.
As the two Dragon Aspects' Titan blessings descended, the red nightmare covering the World Tree Teldrassil rapidly receded, as though it had been suppressed.
But soon, like the receding tide before a tsunami, the nightmare's retreat was only temporary. It swiftly surged back with even greater ferocity, swallowing Alexstrasza and Ysera's Titan blessings.
