Under the Yaungol's fierce assault, Ox Gate had nearly fallen once more. Fortunately, Shado-Pan Commander Ma Long received reinforcements from the Temple of the White Tiger and Shado-Pan Monastery, along with aid from the Tauren Dragonhorn Legion, stabilizing Ox Gate at last.
Tauren High Chieftain Anok Grimtotem looked down at those brave and fearless ancient kin beneath Ox Gate, unable to calm the turmoil in his heart for a time.
The Yaungol had attacked Ox Gate to escape the Mantid assault as well.
Inspired by Rend, Anok Grimtotem wanted to become the first High Chieftain in Azeroth's history to unite all Tauren peoples, bringing the Tauren, Taunka, Highmountain Tauren, and Yaungol together once again.
Yet from the perspective of the Tauren High Chieftain, these ancient Yaungol kin seemed to have attacked Ox Gate only because they faced the threat of extinction. If he were the Yaungol High Chieftain, he would likely have done the same.
"High Chieftain, our ancient kin have already been controlled by the Sha. Even if they gained safe land, they would not stop. Only by freeing them from the Sha can they truly be redeemed." Mayla Highmountain, daughter of Torun Highmountain, High Chieftain of the Highmountain Clan, and Anok Grimtotem's beloved, had noticed her lover's emotions. Ever thoughtful, she stepped forward to comfort him.
At the mention of the Sha's control, Anok Grimtotem's gaze hardened once more. Like the Hozen and Jinyu, the Yaungol had once been allies of the Pandaren. They could have sought Pandaren protection and entered Ox Gate with ease.
But the Yaungol controlled by the Sha of Anger only wanted to invade Kun-Lai Summit, seize the Pandaren's land and resources, and slaughter the Pandaren who lived there.
As Tauren High Chieftain, how could he watch his ancient kin destroy themselves?
