After deciding to lend the dragons a hand, Tona remained on the deck for a while longer as Chromie explained the full story to him.

It turned out that half the reason the Dragonflights had discovered Deathwing's scheme ahead of time was related to him.

Not because of Gul'dan Yanzu, but because of the plan to purify the Black Dragonflight that Tonatiuh had previously proposed to the two Dragon Aspects.

Restless after too much inactivity, Ysera had not returned to the Emerald Dream to sleep after the Orc war ended. Instead, she had chosen to wander around and stretch her limbs. The matter of seizing the black dragon eggs had not been entrusted to ordinary dragons; Ysera herself had personally acted.

She and several green dragons attacked a black dragon nest near the Hinterlands, killed the two adult black dragons there, and took the eggs of that unfortunate dragon couple. She had the green dragons deliver the eggs to Krasus, who later sent them to Tonatiuh.

Yet Ysera had not left the Hinterlands at the time, because she had actually discovered traces of Orcs there. Growing deeply suspicious, Ysera followed the clues and discovered that Deathwing was also in the Hinterlands.

After returning to the Dragonflights' lair and reporting to her sister Alexstrasza, Ysera retreated into the Emerald Dream to recuperate.

Alexstrasza made up her mind that she had to stop Deathwing's sinister plot. However, the Demon Soul was far too deadly to dragons—even Deathwing himself was no exception.

Therefore, dragons could not approach the Demon Soul. It would be best to have mortals stop Deathwing's scheme, just as Deathwing had ordered
