The Land of Rain, true to its name, received abundant rainfall.
By morning, the campfire Zhengye had lit had already been extinguished by the drizzle.
Seeing that it was getting late, Zhengye woke Pakura so they could set off immediately.
The two were now flying through the air.
They were in the same position as yesterday, except that both wore translucent raincoats.
"Why didn't you wake me to take a shift?" After sleeping until morning, Pakura felt refreshed and full of energy.
She hadn't slept so peacefully in a long time.
Zhengye shook his head slightly. "I didn't do much yesterday, so I wasn't very tired. I thought I'd let you sleep a little longer."
In truth, with his mental stat maxed out, he could go days and nights without sleep and feel no fatigue at all.
Besides, he had spent quite a while resting with his eyes closed.
Pakura studied Zhengye's profile.
He was always like this, seemingly never showing much fluctuation in his emotions.
Nor did he ever demand or ask anything of others.
Being with Zhengye always made her feel comfortable and happy.
"Does this rain affect your fireballs?"
Zhengye asked softly.
Under the thin mist of rain, the fireball beneath Pakura's feet gave off a faint sizzling sound.
Pakura smiled brightly. "Scorch Release burns very hot. A little rain like this won't affect it, though it does consume a bit more chakra."
With a tap of her foot, she formed another fireball, and they sped up again.
Zhengye put the folding umbrella back into his backpack.
"Then, while we have some time, let me tell you what I know about Pain."
His opening statement was a bombshell. "Pain is actually a puppet."
Without waiting for Pakura to ask more, Zhengye continued:
"There are five other puppets
