After just five minutes, the splashing inside the tent stopped.
Pakura came out drying her hair, her face flushed and traces of moisture still dotting her bare arms and back.
Although she hadn't brought a change of clothes, she felt much better after her bath.
Her gaze wavered as she looked at Zhengye, unsure whether he had noticed her little gestures earlier.
But she couldn't bring herself to ask.
Seeing that his expression was no different from usual, she couldn't tell whether she felt relieved or a little disappointed.
"Sit down and have something to eat."
Zhengye beckoned to Pakura, took out bowls and chopsticks, and served the mixed instant noodles from the pot.
As the hot water simmered, the fat from the cooked meat melted into the broth and the dried vegetables softened.
The curls of noodles in the bowl, soaked through with meat broth, looked especially tempting.
Pakura sniffed lightly, and an enticing aroma went straight to her nose. Having spent the whole day on the move with only a single Soldier Pill to eat, she suddenly felt ravenous.
Her earlier thoughts immediately flew out of her head.
She took the bowl of noodles, lifted a mouthful, and slurped it straight into her mouth.
With a slurp, the savory noodles burst with rich, fatty flavor in her mouth.
Pakura's eyes lit up. Too busy to speak, she began wolfing them down without a shred of decorum.
"Slow down! Aren't you worried about burning yourself?"
Zhengye could only smile helplessly at the way she ate.
Only after swallowing another large mouthful did Pakura retort:
"Try spending a whole day running around without eating."
