Geography and Structure
- The Great Wilderness is divided into an inner wilderness and an outer wilderness, each comprising five mountain regions. First Mountain, the imperial capital, stands at its center. 352
- Ten ring-shaped regions extend outward from First Mountain. Regions farther from the imperial capital are larger, poorer, and more remote. 352
- “Fifth Mountain” may denote a region’s distance from the central territory rather than a single mountain peak; a southern Fifth Mountain village borders the Divine Marrow Mountain Range. 169
- The journey from outer Fifth Mountain to the First Mountain Imperial Capital takes seven days even for an Imperial Zenith Realm cultivator. 352
- Major teleportation arrays connect parts of the Wilderness, though the outer regions have more limited access. Mo Chen identifies their potential to link the Bitter Cold Land, Fifth Mountain, and major sects. 240 242
- Four ancient realm gates connect the Great Wilderness to Demon Soil. They are major invasion routes for the Myriad Races. 348 370
Cultivation Environment
- Spiritual energy is exceptionally dense. Great Wilderness inhabitants unconsciously absorb it from birth, and nearly every household teaches a breathing technique that tempers the body through breathing. 169
- Human infants ordinarily develop in the womb for three years, are born about three chi tall, and can immediately run and jump. 169
- The Great Wilderness Breathing Technique can rapidly absorb ambient spiritual energy and enlarge a cultivator’s bones and muscles as sufficient energy is accumulated. 196
- Its cultivation environment is markedly superior to the Bitter Cold Land, where the Human Race was restricted from advancing beyond Spirit Refinement Realm. 150 196
- The inner Wilderness is substantially more dangerous than its outer regions, containing numerous powerful Human Race cultivators as well as Demon and Devil Race forces. 204

History
Bitter Cold Land Suppression
The Great Wilderness Imperial Clan sealed and suppressed the Human Race of the Bitter Cold Land for ten thousand years. The stated purpose was to control the Ancestral Dragon bloodline, which is necessary for the emergence of a Human Emperor recognized by the Heavenly Dao. 177
The suppression included a prohibition against cultivation beyond Spirit Refinement Realm. Martial Dragon states that the Imperial Clan threatened to exterminate the descendants of the six nations should such a cultivator appear. 150
Mo Chen later brings twenty Bitter Cold Land geniuses into the Great Wilderness, teaches them its breathing technique, and declares his aim of building power in Southern Region Fifth Mountain against the current Imperial Clan. 195 196
Human Emperor Era
The Wutong Sacred Sect was once unmatched across the Great Wilderness. After the Human Emperor’s death, however, the Son of Heaven suppressed the sect, massacred its members, and scattered or erased its former allies. 262
The Human Emperor had sought to reform the Human Race by using Qin Weiyang as a decisive instrument against corrupt aristocratic clans and families. 356
Court Centralization and Demon War
The imperial court later dissolved, relocated, purged, or incorporated major sects and aristocratic families into state forces, greatly consolidating court authority. 366
This internal upheaval coincided with escalating invasions from Demon Soil. Hundreds of thousands of demons began emerging from the four realm gates daily, attacking Human Race defensive lines. 370
