Background / History
Vane was one of four friends playing Soul Knight before all four were transported to Terra after attempting an Arknights ten-pull. He became the Vampire character he had selected, retaining the “Red Shadow Verdict: Vane” skin, an enormous scythe, and the Vampire’s abilities. Before the transmigration, he planned to fight from the rear while relying on his oldest friend’s defense, the Necromancer’s minions, and the Druid’s summons. 1 5
After regrouping in the Soul Knight lobby, Vane was identified as Fourth Brother. He quickly became one of the group’s principal sources of knowledge about Terra and Arknights, though his suggestions often mixed genuine insight with reckless or absurd plans. 5 132
Vane’s activities in Iberia began when Seaborn inexplicably tolerated his presence. By feeding Seaborn his blood, he created Bloodline Heirs and connected them through The We Many. The Heirs rapidly developed intelligence, adopted Vane’s face, and recognized him as “Your Majesty.” 44 49 75 96
His increasingly visible actions in Iberia brought him into contact with Inquisitors Dario and Irene, Abyssal Hunters, and survivors of the Golden Armada. He recovered the lost fleet, revived or restored several people with his blood, and ultimately accepted Iberia’s throne after Carmen and the Iberian Saints offered it to him. 84 157 223
As king, Vane began relief spending, restarted the lighthouse for nationwide broadcasts, sought to unify Iberia, and declared a “New Golden Age.” His rule also caused a religious schism as Inquisitors loyal to him became Holy Blood Angels. 224 231
Appearance
Vane initially appears as a pale, dark-red-eyed Vampire in red-and-black hunter attire, carrying an oversized scythe. After consuming an enormous amount of food in Gran Faro, his body rapidly matured from a childlike form into that of an adult, with waist-length hair. 5 136
- Pale complexion and scarlet pupils. 5
- Dark red-and-black hunter clothing. 5
- Carries a huge blood scythe in his standard combat appearance. 5 75
- Can manifest large crimson blood wings for flight. 75
- Can dissolve his body into blood under his control. 172
- Has pointed ears and visible fangs when revealing his Vampire identity. 137 198
Personality
Vane is playful, provocative, and theatrical. He enjoys teasing his siblings, Inquisition personnel, and strangers alike; he frequently frames serious events through game terminology, makes extravagant declarations, and seeks attention for his ideas or possessions. 120 124 139 159
He is also cunning and highly adaptable. Vane experiments with Seaborn blood, manipulates enemies and allies to pursue his objectives, and readily uses intimidation when he believes it is effective. His proposals for social reform often involve mass mental networks, omnipresent surveillance, or posthumous judgment. 49 84 145 217
Despite his irresponsibility and morbid humor, Vane is protective of people he accepts as his own. He rushed to retrieve endangered Bloodline Heirs, used his life-rich blood to preserve dying dragon eggs, worried about Jordi during severe rain, and took responsibility for raising the young dragons Reshiram and Zekrom. 75 126 147 172
His bravado has a conspicuous exception: cockroaches. Vane panics at their presence, has fainted after encounters, and even activated multiple abilities against what he believed was a cockroach humanoid. 159 162
Abilities & Skills
Immortal Body
Vane’s signature Vampire ability absorbs incoming damage and stores it for later use. Its complete form has three documented functions: damage absorption, conversion of damage into health, and release of stored energy as shockwaves. 122 172
- Can negate the recoil and impact of attacks absorbed by the ability. 122
- Can release stored damage as a powerful expanding shockwave. 122 172
- Can compress the released shockwave energy into an energy black hole for a concentrated attack. 122
- Can be deliberately withheld; Vane was pierced through the abdomen when he chose not to activate it in order to restrain the Dark Grand Knight. 122
- His blood can confer incomplete Immortal Body-like traits to Seaborn and young dragons. 172
Blood Manipulation
Vane can shape and direct his blood for mobility, combat, restoration, and biological alteration. 75 157 172
- Forms large blood wings, though stable flight requires significant energy and practice. 75
- Creates or directs bat swarms for transport and support. 75
- Used his blood to transform Seaborn into Bloodline Heirs. 49 121
- Restored Alfonso’s mutated arm and reverted Jack from a Seaborn-mutated state into human form. 157
- Used his life-rich blood to sustain the weakening dragon eggs that later became Reshiram and Zekrom. 126
- Created a bat-like second body using a Bloodline Heir and half his essence blood. 198
The We Many
Through his blood, Vane connects Seaborn and Bloodline Heirs into The We Many, treating them as extensions of his own body rather than independent users of the Immortal Body. 96 172
- Commands Bloodline Heirs over a shared mental network. 75 96
- Claims the authority of The We Many ensures the Heirs’ absolute obedience. 121
- Can communicate with and control Seaborn bodies through the network. 50 147
- Downloaded an Aegirian language pack through the network. 147
- Took control of Leviathan’s newly reborn body and experienced its immense physical power. 147
- Created blood-mist surveillance across Iberia and later planned the wider “Suspended Loop” network using modified Bloodline Heirs. 223 217
Otherworldly Vortex
Vane can generate an energy void associated with the Vampire’s spatial ability. 122 172
- Used an energy black hole to contain and counter the Dark Grand Knight’s descending phantom sword. 122
- Cannot safely enter the vortex himself; an attempt to put his body into it resulted in him being shredded. 172
- Does not yet understand how to use the ability to open a functional portal home. 172
Weapon Mastery
Vane is an aggressive close-range fighter, favoring scythes and swords. His combat style combines Immortal Body’s resilience with high-speed aerial movement and improvised tactics. 75 122
- Fought alongside Gorth to defeat the Dark Grand Knight. 122 123
- Obtained twin jet-black longswords containing the Black Knight’s martial skill; the skill is accessible while wielding them but is not permanently retained. 123
- Used the Black Knight’s sword techniques to unleash projectile barrages, blood-red sword storms, and massive sword phantoms. 123 124
- Defeated a Fire Grand Knight while testing his newly acquired weapons. 124
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Blood Scythe — Vane’s standard oversized weapon, used in close combat and to threaten or restrain opponents. 5 75 122
- Dark Grand Knight’s Sword / twin black longswords — A greatsword that split into two black longswords and grants access to the Black Knight’s martial skill while held. 123 124
- Demonic Flame Titanium Sword — A weapon Vane acquired from a dungeon chest; its special defensive attack grants invincibility while held, at the cost of reduced movement speed, then produces ground spikes or bloody hands based on blocked attacks. 205
- Ten Percent Off — A small television-like mechanical pet that displays emoticon faces and follows Vane affectionately. 44
- Lucky-like bat body — A chibi bat-shaped spare body made from a Bloodline Heir and Vane’s essence blood. 198

- Bloodline Heirs — Seaborn altered by Vane’s blood and linked to The We Many. They obey him as their sovereign and have evolved to resemble him. 75 96 121
- Leviathan — The reborn Scribbled War God, renamed by Vane after returning to The We Many in a new body. Vane calls Leviathan his right-hand guardian and can control its body. 147
- Dario — Grand Inquisitor who negotiated with Vane and eventually became a trusted standard-setter for Iberian justice under Vane’s rule. 84 231
- Irene — An Inquisitor who frequently objects to Vane’s methods and behavior, yet accompanies him through multiple Iberian incidents. 83 95 224
- Skadi — An Abyssal Hunter captured by the Bloodline Heirs and later associated with Vane’s Iberian group. Their interactions are marked by Vane’s teasing and Skadi’s blunt responses. 96 136 147
