Tang Wulin began as a disciple of Wu Zhangkong at Eastsea Academy. At ten, his Soul Power was comparatively weak, but his Qi and Blood and Golden Dragon King bloodline gave him exceptional physical potential. His enormous appetite was notable even beside Xu Yuan and Xu Lizhi. 66 67

He challenged Xu Yuan despite knowing that Xu Yuan was a three-ring Soul Venerable with three thousand-year Soul Rings. Tang Wulin sought information before the match and hoped to obtain Xu Yuan’s physical-cultivation method fairly rather than through coercion. Xu Yuan defeated Tang Wulin’s side decisively, but the loss reinforced Tang Wulin’s determination to close the gap through forging, Battle Armor, and cultivation. 68 71 72

Tang Wulin later awakened his Blue Silver Grass into the Blue Silver Emperor and increasingly combined it with his Golden Dragon King bloodline.
