Overview
Shrek is a revered Soul Master cultivation academy based in Shrek City. Its academy grounds form an inner city comparable in size to a medium-sized outside city, though its actual teaching area occupies only part of that territory. 26
It is regarded as a sacred place for Soul Master cultivation by both Soul Masters and ordinary people. Its reputation is tied to an institutional culture of “strangeness” and to the legacy of the Shrek Seven Devils. 175
Campus
Shrek City and Inner City
- Shrek Academy’s inner city contains facilities more complete than those of a large outside city. 26
- Spirit Ice Plaza serves as an enrollment gathering point and contains statues of the Golden Iron Triangle, the first-generation Shrek Seven Devils, and the Shrek Seven Devils of Huo Yuhao’s era. 26
- The statues of legendary figures such as Tang San emit a faint special aura, possibly connected to carving technique, Soul Master intent, or gathered faith. 26
- The six-story Ring Building, behind Spirit Ice Plaza, hosts entrance assessments. 26
- Sea God Island is a central academy site and the location from which Shrek opened its Demon Gate. 329
- Sea God Pavilion serves as Shrek’s senior leadership body. 38
Notable Defenses and Assets
- The Golden Ancient Tree protected Shrek Academy during the twin God-Slaying Missile attack. 470
- Shrek prepared space-shielding defensive systems and upgraded Xu Yuan’s Linkage Technology in response to the missile threat. 320 324
- Shrek controls a Demon Gate and ultimately gained control of the Demon Plane, granting access to resources from other Planes. 386
- Na Lundo King City in the Demon Plane was converted into a Shrek transit stronghold and renamed Yuan City in recognition of Xu Yuan’s contribution. 351
- Shrek gained Dragon Valley as an additional institutional foundation, although its immediate utility was limited because few suitable students could integrate its dragon-type Soul Spirits. 460
- The academy possesses twenty of the more than 150 known wondrous items. 540
Admissions and Education
Enrollment
Shrek holds enrollment once every three years. Major forces generally know the broad assessment procedures but are bound not to disclose them to younger candidates, preserving the examinations’ effectiveness. 19
- Candidates are generally recommended by other academies. 26
- Successful entrants commonly meet a minimum Soul Power standard of level 23 or 24 as Soul Grand Masters. 26
- Assessments test willpower, temperament, and the examinee’s true heart. 19 26
- Illusion Arts may suppress prior knowledge of the test and distractions, forcing candidates to answer from their genuine inner nature. 26
- A mural of a black dragon with golden eyes subjects entrants to Dragon Might, a test of raw pressure rather than bloodline hierarchy. 26
Outer Courtyard
The Outer Courtyard maintains an intense pace intended to prepare students for graduation with One-Word Dou Armor. It emphasizes auxiliary-profession development while students are young enough to build flexible foundations rather than fixed habits of thought. 144
First Grade Class One achieved sweeping victories over Fifth Grade opponents in auxiliary professions and showed no disadvantage in its team battle, despite being approximately three years younger on average than the Second Grade. 144
Inner Courtyard
Students who complete Shrek’s assessment may be admitted directly to the Inner Courtyard. Inner Courtyard students earn and use Contribution Points, study sub-professions, and are mobilized for major academy operations. 38 324
The Inner Courtyard was deployed for exploration and counter-invasion of the Demon Plane. Repeated expeditions established increasingly mature procedures, including the use of Energy Storage Devices to counter meridian erosion caused by the Demon Plane’s heaven-and-earth energy. 329 351
Culture and Legacy
“Monsters”
Shrek’s defining image is that of “monsters”: individuals expected to exploit their strengths and abilities to the fullest. This has contributed to a distinctive internal culture in which behavior that might otherwise be considered bizarre is tolerated as part of Shrek’s character. 175
Shrek Seven Devils
The Shrek Seven Devils are a prestigious academy designation with a legacy represented prominently in Spirit Ice Plaza’s statues. 26
- Yun Ming selected a new generation of Shrek Seven Devils, with Xu Yuan chosen as its leader. 101
- Although called the “Seven Devils,” the academy selected all eight members of Tang Wulin’s team for the position. 316
- The group’s selection emphasizes both individual strength and internal competition. 316
Forging
Feng Wuyu became Shrek’s first Divine Craftsman after achieving Heavenly Forging, filling a historical gap: Shrek had previously hosted Saint Craftsmen but had never produced its own Divine Craftsman. 399
Major Events
Demon Plane Operations
Shrek opened a passage to the Demon Plane from Sea God Island with Yuanen Yehui’s cooperation and Yun Ming’s support. 329
The academy sent vanguards into the Demon Plane, while Yun Ming used the Golden Ancient Tree to control and erode the passage without personally entering it. 333 Shrek later took control of the Demon Plane and considered using it for Outer Courtyard practical training, resource acquisition, and cooperation with other factions. 386
Federation Dispute
After two God-Slaying Missiles were lost and identified as weapons intended to destroy Shrek, the academy demanded the Federation surrender its remaining missile. 321
Shrek did not receive the Eternal Heaven Kingdom, but compelled an arrangement under which the War God Hall would guard it and Chen Xinjie would remain stationed there. Shrek also demanded rare metals associated with Ninth Grade Fixed-mounted Soul Guided Cannon Shell production. 324
God-Slaying Missile Attack
Two God-Slaying Missiles struck Shrek City, causing widespread destruction and casualties. Shrek Academy survived through the protection of the Golden Ancient Tree, while Soul Masters across the city joined the defensive response after the academy’s array resisted the initial impact. 470
The attack left lasting psychological effects on Shrek’s students despite the academy’s survival. 472
