History

Unrecognized academy

Shrek was initially a small, remote academy outside Soto City. Its grounds consisted of a dirt training field, shabby single-story buildings, crude dormitories, a cafeteria shed, and a crooked bamboo fence. Its poor condition led outsiders to mistake it for an abandoned farmstead rather than a Soul Master academy 34 38.

Despite its demanding admissions standard, Shrek lacked official recognition from the Balak Kingdom for nearly ten years. Earlier license applications had been rejected or ignored following Flender's conflict with Barak officials, preventing the academy from entering the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament under its own name 50.

Enrollment of the core students

Yun Tian, Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Zhu Zhuqing arrived to register together. Shrek's entry requirements were that applicants be no older than thirteen and possess at least rank 25 soul power; Yun Tian entered as a rank 42 Soul Ancestor, Tang San and Xiao Wu as rank 31 Soul Elders, and Zhu Zhuqing as a rank 28 Grand Soul Master 35.

The group passed Zhao Wuji's entrance assessment after forcing the seven-ring Soul Sage to use his Martial Soul True Body. They were formally enrolled alongside Ning Rongrong 38.

Renovation and certification

Yun Tian's victory over the Soul King Shi Wei generated substantial prize money for Shrek. Flender used the academy's share to repave the training ground, repair buildings and dormitories, expand the cafeteria, rebuild the gate and signboard, and replace the old flagpole and banner 47 49.

Yun Tian later advised Flender to submit a formal application emphasizing Shrek's facilities, staff, students, and Soul Arena results, then personally visit Barak City with gifts and a proposal for future cooperation. The plan succeeded, and Shrek was approved as an official advanced Soul Master Academy 50 51.
