Inside the Hokage Building.
Uchiha Yato wore no playful expression either. His face was exceptionally serious now.
The dark circles around his eyes also revealed just how exhausted he was.
Just as he finished reviewing another document, Tom placed a fresh one on his desk.
"I can't take this anymore!"
He pushed the document in his hand toward Tom and complained resentfully.
"What exactly did I become the Fourth Hokage for? Wasn't it to be the boss?"
"What kind of boss has to sit here reviewing documents all day and do nothing else? This is way too boring, isn't it?!"
The resentment in Uchiha Yato's voice was practically tangible, and even the people working outside could feel the bitterness of a wage slave.
Uchiha Yato complained for so long, yet Tom did not say a word. He merely sorted through and cleared away the documents, which made Uchiha Yato even more displeased.
"My dear Tom~"
The instant Tom heard Uchiha Yato make that sound, a chill shot from the soles of his feet straight to the top of his head.
"Don't talk to me in that disgusting voice."
Sure enough, Uchiha Yato stopped using that voice. Instead, he stared at Tom with a pair of big, watery eyes.
"Don't look at me with those disgusting eyes either!"
That left Uchiha Yato dissatisfied, and he began throwing a tantrum.
"Look at you. This won't do, that won't do—then what do you want?"
In the end, Tom was defeated in this simple tug-of-war.
"I'll handle the rest of today's documents for you. Happy now?!"
As Tom said those words, he felt as though all his spirit had drained away. It was like he had signed another contract with the devil and become his slave.
Meanwhile, Uchiha Yato had once again proven something.
