And so, the thirty-kilometer contest began.
"Kid, don't say I didn't warn you. It's fine to use a few little tricks."
As he spoke, Jiraiya spat a mouthful of toad oil toward Uchiha Yato.
Yet Uchiha Yato seemed to have eyes in the back of his head. He dodged it immediately, then launched a Fire Release ninjutsu at Jiraiya.
"Oh? Did Lord Jiraiya just say something?"
After attacking, Uchiha Yato even put on an innocent, bewildered expression, instantly stoking Jiraiya's irritation.
"Looks like Lord Jiraiya has been far too nice to you. Let me teach you a real lesson."
As he spoke, Jiraiya spat several more mouthfuls of toad oil at Uchiha Yato.
He had chosen toad oil for two reasons. First, it was not inherently offensive and could be used entirely as a probing method to test Uchiha Yato's agility and reaction speed.
Second, it could make Uchiha Yato feel disgusted while making his body slippery, thereby affecting his speed.
After all, few people in the ninja world could tolerate either the appearance or smell of toad oil.
As several more blasts of toad oil flew toward him, Uchiha Yato smoothly pulled out a scroll.
The scroll had no other purpose. After simply intercepting the toad oil, it became useless.
Jiraiya's expression turned strange and somewhat complicated at the sight.
He did not know whether this was Uchiha Yato's first encounter with toad oil, or whether he had come up with a countermeasure after only those few simple attacks.
Once toad oil came into contact with paper, it rapidly spread across it.
With that, most of Jiraiya's plan was instantly absorbed by the blank scroll Uchiha Yato had taken out, and the toad oil became completely useless.
By this point, Jiraiya had no intention of continuing to test Uchiha
