During the Witch-Demon War, Gui Che killed Kuafu with the Witch Slaying Sword, and Hongjun summoned the Six Sages, praised Lu Tian for exposing the sword, and ordered them to keep the war under control while he could not monitor the Primordial World. When Gonggong struck Buzhou Mountain and shattered the heavens, Lu Tian urged Zhunti to take him to the North Sea, while Jieyin stalled the other Sages.

After Nuwa mended the sky and the turtle stabilized the heavens, the Heavenly Dao rewarded the Mysterious Turtle, Nuwa, Zhunti, and Lu Tian with merit.
