Kurenai walked between the two at this moment, breaking the silence. "Dad, is dinner ready?"

Yuhi Shinku stepped out of his reminiscence of old friends and replied, "It's already prepared. It's in the kitchen; go ahead and bring it out."

Kurenai obediently walked into the kitchen. Yuhi Shinku turned to invite Toru to sit down. "Sit down, Toru. Just treat this place like your own home. You're alone at your place anyway, so come eat at my house every night from now on. Taste my cooking and liven things up around here while you're at it."

Toru politely intended to decline, but Yuhi Shinku seemed quite insistent, and Toru found it difficult to refuse again.

"Thank you, Uncle."

Yuhi Shinku wore a satisfied smile. "You and Kurenai are about the same age; she's less than a year older than you. It'll be good for you two to have each other's company—it'll make studying and training much more convenient."

They were training just fine when a group of students from the Hyuga clan took a liking to the spot they were occupying. When they refused to yield, a conflict broke out.

However, the Hyuga side seemed to have an upperclassman with them. Dohka and the others were beaten until they had no way to fight back and were driven away in disgrace.
