Black Zetsu remained silent and offered no response.
Obito muttered to himself, "It's only a temporary compromise. After all, the darkness of human nature is the most terrifying thing in this world."
Black Zetsu watched the reflective Obito speechlessly, wondering what kind of stimulation this guy had received lately. Strange things kept coming out of his mouth.
Fortunately, it had nothing to do with him. As long as the plan was not ruined, Black Zetsu did not care what Obito became.
Put bluntly, Obito was merely a chess piece—a self-righteous chess piece who wanted to jump off Madara Uchiha's chessboard and become a player.
Little did he know that everything he did was, in Black Zetsu's eyes, the act of a clown.
"By the way, does Nagato have any plans? Akatsuki shouldn't just sit by and let the Five Great Shinobi Villages recover their strength, especially Konoha. Uchiha Yan is even harder to deal with."
Akatsuki had originally wanted to eavesdrop on the Five Kage Summit, but the mission Nagato assigned had been refused by both Obito and Black Zetsu.
They had both refused to go to the Land of Iron to gather intelligence, on the grounds that Konoha's Sixth Hokage, Uchiha Yan, would notice them.
If Obito said that, Nagato would think he was making excuses, deliberately avoiding the organization's mission and refusing to deal with him.
But Black Zetsu's refusal of the mission meant that Akatsuki had no way to reach a place where Yan was present, or they would be discovered.
That was rather bad news for Akatsuki.
"Nagato suggested capturing the revived Four-Tails first. The Three-Tails has already been moved by Kirigakure, and intelligence is still being gathered."
"It seems Nagato's injuries are more serious than either of us expected."
Obito could not help but sneer.
