Background

Yan transmigrated into the shinobi world after working overtime in his former life and awoke as a member of the Uchiha clan. He arrived several years after the Nine-Tails Night, with only three years remaining before the Uchiha massacre he knew was coming. His immediate goal became preventing the clan's destruction by forcing the Uchiha to unite and confront both internal factionalism and Konoha's discrimination 1 3.

His “golden finger” has two functions—Copy and Fuse—usable once per day. Copying another person can grant rewards ranging from ocular power and combat experience to rare chakra rewards such as Indra's or Asura's chakra; Fuse immediately incorporates the reward into Yan's body 1.

Yan began as a Police Department captain whose regular patrols and growing reputation insulated him from direct action by Danzō and the Third Hokage. He deliberately built political capital within the clan before challenging its elders and faction leaders openly 3 5.

Personality

Yan is blunt, confrontational, and intensely protective of the Uchiha. He rejects the idea that the clan should win acceptance by appeasing villagers, arguing instead that its security must rest on its own unity, strength, and proper treatment of Police Department personnel 7 9.
