History

The Uchiha were one of the dominant clans of the Warring States era, locked in a long conflict with the Senju. Their strength was so overwhelming that many other clans in the Land of Fire were destroyed after being caught between Uchiha and Senju warfare. Madara Uchiha later sought to lead the clan away from Konoha, but no clansman followed him. 520 764

By the period after Nine-Tails Night, the clan was internally divided and increasingly distrusted by Konoha's leadership. Police Department

The Uchiha control Konoha's Police Department, using it to maintain public order and investigate crimes. The role is politically costly: enforcing the law regularly creates resentment, and the department has repeatedly faced deliberate attempts to frame it and damage the clan's reputation. 6 17 51
