Whether Konan had any backup plans or not, Obito had no intention of giving her a chance to act. When it was time to be ruthless, he had to be ruthless. Otherwise, he would only bring needless trouble upon himself.

Konan's face darkened as she stared fixedly at Obito. If looks could kill, Obito would have died countless times beneath her hate-filled, furious gaze.
"That's right, don't move. Otherwise, when Nagato dies, it'll be your fault."
Seeing Konan standing there, too afraid to move, Obito laughed smugly.
Nagato wanted to tell Konan not to hesitate and to attack, but he could not control his own body.
Only now did Nagato realize just how laughable everything he had done had been. Everything about him had been in someone else's grasp, and they could control his body whenever they wished.
Yet he had naively believed that he could fulfill Yahiko's dream.
Now, it seemed that everything had been nothing but a fantasy.
Unable to move, Nagato was taken by Obito, along with Black Zetsu, into the Kamui Dimension after Konan had been cowed.
"Ah!!!"
Tears of regret streamed from the corners of Konan's eyes. She raised her hand, wanting to catch Nagato, but her fingers grasped nothing. She could only watch helplessly as Nagato was taken away.
She did not dare move. Yahiko had once died before her very eyes in the same way.
Back then, she had been used as a hostage to threaten Yahiko. Now, she was the one being threatened.
Yahiko could not watch Konan die before his eyes. By the same token, Konan could not watch Nagato die before hers.
"Do we need to return the corpse to her?"
Black Zetsu looked curiously at Obito.
