Arc 41Dalaran Takes Flight

After Kel'Thuzad stole Gul'dan's Skull and the Scepter of Sargeras, Ye Ting took command of Dalaran and prepared the city to face the Burning Legion. Archimonde arrived and attacked, but Dalaran escaped destruction by shifting into another space and rising into the air, where its mages fought off the Doomguards.

  • Kel'Thuzad's trap damaged Ansirem's tower, and a later explosion at the Violet Citadel led Ye Ting and the archmages to discover that Nerubians had infiltrated the vault and stolen Gul'dan's Skull and the Scepter of Sargeras.
  • Ye Ting, Ansirem, and Modera pursued the Nerubians through the sewers, where they encountered Kel'Thuzad and his forces, and Antonidas fought Kel'Thuzad but was gravely injured before the lich escaped.
  • Antonidas entrusted Ye Ting with the Speaker's ring and authority, and Ye Ting told Dalaran's leaders that the Scourge planned to summon demons.
  • Ye Ting won the mages' support for his plan to make Dalaran a floating city and adapted the city's magical barrier to lift its existing foundations into the air.
  • Kel'Thuzad summoned Archimonde, who took command of the Scourge and prepared to destroy Dalaran as Ye Ting activated the city's anti-gravity system.
  • Ye Ting hid Dalaran in an overlapping space to evade Archimonde's devastating spell, then returned it to the material plane as it began to rise.
  • Archimonde ordered the Doomguards to bring down Dalaran, and Ye Ting directed the mages to conserve mana, target their wings, and hold the city's defenses.
