Ye Ting helped the Argonauts survive their disastrous quest for the Golden Fleece and challenged Athena to resist the Olympians. He then aided Nitocris in avenging her brother and rebuilding Egypt, leaving her army poised to fight Meribre outside Herakleopolis.

Arc 25The Colchis Trials

Ye Ting and the Argonauts reached Colchis seeking the Golden Fleece, but Aeetes set deadly trials before them. After Volcanion killed many heroes, Atalanta finally wore the beasts down, only for Mystra Academy mages to capture them.

  • Ye Ting escaped Hippolyta after releasing her, rejoined the Argo, and sailed with the Argonauts to Bithynia, where they drove off the Harpies and crossed the Clashing Rocks.
  • The Argo reached Colchis, where Jason negotiated with Aeetes and accepted a trial for the Golden Fleece, while Ye Ting learned that Mystra Academy protected the king.
  • Jason and his companions explored Cytaea and learned that its mages worshipped Hecate before Aeetes set the Argonauts a trial involving fire-breathing bulls and warriors raised from dragon teeth.
  • At the banquet, Medea kissed Ye Ting under Aphrodite’s influence, then fled with him after he brought her back to her senses, and Jason realized the trial’s terms also required defeating the Colchian Dragon.
  • Aeetes revealed two artificial Volcanion for the first trials, and Lynceus and Nauplius died fighting them as Jason began to doubt the quest.
  • Erginus, Peleus, and other Argonauts died or were gravely wounded as they fought Volcanion, until Atalanta exhausted the beasts and secured victory.

Arc 26The Argonauts’ Reckoning

Jason and the Argonauts won the Golden Fleece but lost it to Hecate’s Five Emperor Dragon, suffering devastating casualties. Aboard the Argo, Jason turned against the gods, while Ye Ting challenged Athena to resist the Olympians’ punishment of the survivors.

  • Ye Ting explained Colchis’s hidden magical powers to Jason, who continued the quest despite suspecting Aeetes’s trial was a trap.
  • The Argonauts faced the Dragon Tooth Soldiers, and Potes and several other heroes died before Atalanta defeated the remaining Spartoi with Ye Ting’s help.
  • Medea lulled the Colchian Dragon to sleep, and Atalanta stole the Golden Fleece and delivered it to Jason.
  • The Dragon caught the Argonauts and revealed her loyalty to Hecate and Mystra Academy, then fought them as the Five Emperor Dragon and killed many heroes.

Arc 27Thoth in Egypt

Ye Ting helped Athena and the Argonauts resist the Olympian gods before traveling to Egypt, where he offered Nitocris help avenging her brother and began teaching her magic. He spared the Vizier so Nitocris could take her own revenge, while the ministers continued plotting against Ye Ting.

  • Ye Ting revealed his identity to Athena, gained her secret cooperation, and helped the Argonauts survive the gods’ storm and the Sirens’ song.
  • Alcinous allowed Medea to remain with Ye Ting after their wedding, and Medea took control of Talos so the Argonauts could reach Greece.
  • Athena publicly protected the returning Argonauts, who killed Pelias and spread word of the gods’ betrayal as Ye Ting later sent the Calydonian Boar away.

Arc 28Nitocris Reclaims Egypt

With Ye Ting’s help, Nitocris avenged Merenre II, purged Memphis’s corrupt officials, and rebuilt the city’s prosperity and military strength. She marched to reunify Egypt, and the arc ended as her army faced Meribre’s forces outside Herakleopolis.

  • Ye Ting erased Vizier’s memories and encouraged Nitocris to learn magic and take revenge on the officials who had caused her brother’s death.
  • Nitocris used Medjed’s Invisibility to infiltrate the conspirators’ homes and assassinated the officials responsible for Merenre II’s murder.
  • Nitocris revealed the nobles’ crimes to the people of Memphis, then staged a public trial where accused officials exposed one another and faced punishment.
  • Nitocris replaced corrupt officials, expanded farming, restored Memphis’s food supplies, and gathered an army as the people acclaimed her rule.
  • Ye Ting recruited gifted Egyptians and trained them in rune magic, forming Nitocris’s War Mage Corps.
