Ch. 841Progress [Second Update]

Ye Ting prepared an animated suit of armor to give Yrel practical combat training after transferring extensive weapon knowledge to her. Yrel faced the spear-wielding opponent in terror as Ye Ting told her to fight as if failure meant death, promising to heal her injuries.

  • Ye Ting explained that Yrel needed real combat experience to turn her theoretical weapon knowledge into instinct and skill.
  • Ye Ting summoned a suit of armor and used Soul Materialization to bring it to life as a sparring opponent.
  • Yrel took a hammer and shield, then watched the animated armor pick up a spear and assume a battle stance.
  • Yrel felt threatened by the armor and looked to Ye Ting for reassurance.
  • Ye Ting told Yrel to fight with the resolve to survive an arena battle and said he could heal any injuries.

Ch. 842Humiliation and Fury [Second Update]

Yrel led a group of Draenei prisoners into Highmaul Coliseum, encouraging them to fight for a chance to live despite the hostile Orc crowd. The announcer revealed that their opponent would be a Talbuk from the Nagrand Plains, and the audience roared with laughter.

  • Yrel chose a warhammer and shield as Orc guards forced the Draenei prisoners toward the arena.
  • Yrel urged her frightened compatriots to take up their weapons and resist, then entered the arena first.
  • The Draenei followed Yrel into Highmaul Coliseum, where Orc spectators hurled insults and demanded blood.
  • The announcer announced that ten Draenei would face a Talbuk from the Nagrand Plains, prompting the crowd to laugh.

Ch. 843Matador [First Update]

Yrel drew Dreadhoof’s attention away from the other Draenei and used its reckless charges to injure it. After five crashes into the arena wall, both Yrel and Dreadhoof were exhausted, and Yrel believed she could dodge only one more charge.

  • Yrel hurled a warhammer at Dreadhoof and provoked it into focusing on her, telling the other Draenei to stay back.
  • Yrel dodged Dreadhoof’s charge, letting it crash into the arena wall, then struck its hind leg with her warhammer.
  • Yrel repeated the tactic, dodging each charge and hitting the same spot on Dreadhoof’s leg to weaken it.
  • After Dreadhoof crashed into the wall five times, Yrel was drenched in sweat and nearly out of strength, while the beast remained furious.

Ch. 844Victory [Second Update]

Yrel defeated Dreadhoof in the gladiatorial arena, earning the Orcs’ respect and improving her conditions in captivity. She remained a slave in Highmaul, but her victory advanced the plan to build her reputation and gather the Draenei for a future escape.

  • Yrel nearly used the Holy Light when Dreadhoof charged, but the beast’s repeatedly injured hind leg broke and caused it to fall.
  • Yrel smashed Dreadhoof’s skull with her warhammer and killed it, winning the gladiatorial battle.
  • Yrel celebrated her victory before the Draenei and Orcs, realizing she had begun building a reputation in Highmaul.
  • The Orcs returned Yrel to her cell with better food, bedding, and light after an important figure noticed her performance and considered training her as a star gladiator.
  • Yrel reflected on her victory and shortcomings, resolved to keep training with Ye Ting’s help, and rested her exhausted body first.

Ch. 845Yrel's Progress [Fourth Update]

Ye Ting comforted the exhausted Yrel with a massage, and she fell asleep on his lap before waking to his teasing. Yrel then blamed Prophet Velen for the Draenei’s suffering, while Ye Ting argued that Velen’s caution and reliance on prophecy made him an unfit leader.

  • Ye Ting massaged Yrel with Holy Light until she relaxed and fell asleep on his lap.
  • Yrel woke after sunset, blushed at realizing she had slept on Ye Ting, and thanked him.
  • Yrel said she had begun to resent Prophet Velen for the Draenei’s losses and enslavement.
  • Ye Ting criticized Velen as too kind and cautious to lead, and said his reliance on prophecy had left him helpless after losing his foresight.

Ch. 846Kargath Bladefist and Fel Energy [Second Update]

Yrel endured increasingly frequent gladiatorial matches at Highmaul Coliseum until the Orcs staged a mass slaughter and brought an important chieftain to watch her fight. Ye Ting recognized the chieftain’s green skin as evidence that Gul'dan had begun corrupting the Horde with Mannoroth’s blood.

  • The Orcs tried to exhaust Yrel by scheduling her for several gladiatorial matches each day, but her Draenei strength and paladin abilities let her endure.
  • On the fifth day after Yrel defeated the young Gronn, the Coliseum’s matches paused while the Orcs celebrated a major event among the Horde.
  • Ye Ting recalled sensing a powerful spatial disturbance and suspected that someone had opened a portal on Draenor.
  • The Orcs sent many powerful gladiators into the arena to kill one another, leaving only a handful alive by the time Yrel was called to fight.
  • Yrel spotted the sharp-bladed Orc who had watched her first match seated on the Ogre emperor’s throne, now with green skin.
  • Ye Ting realized that Gul'dan had persuaded Horde chieftains to drink Mannoroth’s blood, beginning the Orcs’ fel corruption.

Ch. 847Skirmishing [First Update]

Yrel fought Gagoma after he drank demon blood and became a powerful, frenzied beast. After testing his strength, she avoided a direct clash and began retreating and dodging, drawing boos from the Orc spectators.

  • Yrel sensed the chaotic, corrupting power inside Gagoma and prepared to face him cautiously.
  • Gagoma picked up his great axe, roared, and charged at Yrel with a leaping strike.
  • Yrel blocked Gagoma’s axe with her shield and warhammer, and the impact drove them both back.
  • Kargath realized Yrel could match Gagoma’s strength and worried that the fight’s outcome was uncertain.
  • Yrel judged that she should avoid Gagoma’s attacks until he tired, so she retreated and dodged while the Orc spectators booed her.

Ch. 848Two Straight Victories [Second Update]

Yrel conserved her strength and used Gagoma’s exhaustion to kill him, then defeated another Orc gladiator. She challenged Kargath Bladefist directly, leaving him facing a public duel before the Horde’s planned attack on Shattrath.

  • Yrel recognized that Gagoma was tiring and pretended to stumble so he would lower his guard.
  • Yrel blinded Gagoma with sand, swept him off his feet, and killed him with a Shield Bash and a hammer blow.
  • Another Orc drank Mannoroth’s blood and challenged Yrel, but she killed him after five minutes.
  • Kargath Bladefist worried that Yrel’s victories were damaging Orc morale before the Horde attacked Shattrath.
  • Yrel challenged Kargath to fight her himself and called him a coward.

Ch. 849Kargath—A Fated Opponent

Yrel accepted Kargath’s challenge and faced the Shattered Hand chieftain in the arena, where his speed and power forced her to rely on defense. She kept her Holy Light and shadow abilities hidden, and the fight continued after she barely evaded his opening charge and slash.

  • Yrel challenged Kargath, angering the Orcs and prompting them to demand that he accept.
  • Kargath entered the arena and struck Yrel with a fast blow that drove her back and revealed the gap between them.
  • Yrel recognized that she could use her hidden Holy Light and shadow powers to surprise Kargath, but decided to endure his attacks first.
  • Kargath charged and swung at Yrel’s neck, but she ducked and rolled aside as his blade gouged the arena floor.

Ch. 850Yrel's Fall Arena [Second Update]

Yrel fought Kargath in the arena, but his relentless dual-weapon attacks wounded her and left her nearly defeated. As Kargath seized her, she activated Divine Shield and drove him away, revealing a golden barrier around herself.

  • Kargath attacked Yrel with a rapid combination of his right-hand curved blade and his left-hand blade, and she narrowly blocked his ambush.
  • Kargath kept up a barrage that forced Yrel to dodge and parry, cutting her in several places and causing her to lose blood.
  • As Yrel grew dizzy and her wrists weakened, Kargath struck her shield directly, sending her flying and knocking the shield away.
  • Kargath grabbed Yrel by the neck and declared that the weak must learn obedience.
  • Yrel activated Divine Shield, which surrounded her with golden light and forced Kargath away.

Ch. 851Knights of Light and Shadow [Third Update]

Yrel revealed her hidden paladin power, stunned Kargath, and transformed into a Shadow Knight to overwhelm him. She drained his life with shadow magic, leaving him a withered corpse.

  • Kargath realized that Yrel was a paladin after she unleashed Holy Light and healed her wounds and exhaustion.
  • Yrel struck Kargath with Hammer of Justice, stunning him before he could evade.
  • Yrel entered her Shadow Knight state, empowered her weapon, and smashed Kargath's chest with Desecration Strike.
  • Yrel held Kargath and poured shadow power into him with Shadow Infusion until he withered into a corpse.

Ch. 852Escaping Amid the Chaos [First Update]

After Yrel killed Kargath, Ye Ting used the Orcs’ confusion to help her escape the arena and prepare to free the prisoners. Yrel then admitted she did not feel capable of leading the escape and asked Ye Ting to take charge.

  • Yrel killed Kargath and two senior Shattered Hand figures, throwing the Orcs in the stands into chaos.
  • Ye Ting cast Greater Invisibility on Yrel and left an illusion of her in the arena as they slipped into the passage.
  • Yrel and Ye Ting killed the guards at the passage entrance, then destroyed the gate chains and sealed the other arena gates.
  • The pair fought their way through the passages toward the prison cells, killing the guards they encountered.
  • Yrel stopped Ye Ting and asked him to lead the prisoners’ escape because she had never organized or led anyone.

Ch. 853Storming the Prison [Second Update]

Ye Ting restored Yrel’s confidence in her ability to lead their people to freedom, and she thanked him with a kiss before they continued toward the prison exit. Yrel killed the Orc jailers guarding the dungeon entrance and collected their keys.

  • Ye Ting reminded Yrel of her past achievements and urged her to trust the leader he believed she could become.
  • Yrel regained her confidence and promised to lead everyone out, then kissed Ye Ting on the cheek in thanks.
  • Ye Ting and Yrel hurried toward the dungeon entrance, racing to escape before the Orcs in the arena could react.
  • Yrel fought the jailers who recognized her, killing them and leaving their captain barely alive.
  • Yrel crushed the captain’s chest, then searched the jailers and gathered their keys.

Ch. 854Collective Jailbreak [First Update]

Ye Ting and Yrel broke into Highmaul’s prison, where Yrel freed the captured gladiators and urged them to escape with her. She persuaded the hesitant prisoners that the Orcs would kill them anyway after she killed Kargath and many guards, leaving them to decide whether to join her flight.

  • Blackhand sent scouts to investigate Draenor’s other civilizations while the Horde prepared to conquer them.
  • Ye Ting and Yrel entered Highmaul’s prison, where the captured gladiators recognized Yrel as a feared arena champion.
  • Yrel used the prison keys to free the gladiators and told them that the arena’s lack of guards gave them a chance to escape.
  • An elderly Sabermaw warned the prisoners that escaping would bring certain death, and about a third of them refused to join Yrel.
  • Yrel mocked the Sabermaw’s fear and revealed that she had killed Kargath Bladefist and nearly every guard she encountered, convincing the prisoners that the Orcs would not spare them.

Ch. 855Yrel Spartacus [Second Update]

After killing Kargath Bladefist, Yrel organized the enslaved gladiators to seize the arena prison and prepare an escape from Highmaul. The escape force reached the armory, where Yrel imposed order as they collected equipment and supplies.

  • Yrel revealed her escape plan, explained that the Shattered Hand Clan was distracted and lightly defended, and swore to lead the gladiators to freedom.
  • Yrel assigned groups to free prisoners, guard the prison, obstruct pursuers, scout, and prepare the armory, while Ye Ting led the armory team.
  • Yrel and the gladiators freed the prisoners, killed the Orc jailers, and organized the escapees into groups by race.
  • Ye Ting opened the armory and sorted weapons, armor, food, and supplies for the arriving gladiators.
  • Yrel knocked down an Arakkoa who rushed for supplies and ordered everyone to collect their equipment one at a time.

Ch. 856Escape from Highmaul [First Update]

Yrel led Ye Ting and the gladiators in a breakout from Highmaul Coliseum, then ordered fires set across the city to hinder their pursuers. After fighting through the guards at the city gates, the group escaped Highmaul.

  • Yrel organized the gladiators to collect their equipment, then led them toward the coliseum gates.
  • Ye Ting opened the locked gates with Alohomora, and Yrel charged out with the gladiators following her Holy Light.
  • Yrel fought through the Orc guards while Ye Ting guided the group away from the coliseum.
  • Yrel sent Wolian, Bloodmane, and other groups to set fires around Highmaul while the main force held off pursuing guards.
  • Yrel led the gladiators to the city gates, where they defeated the guards and escaped after Ye Ting opened the gates.

Ch. 857Home [First Update]

Yrel led the escaped gladiators out of the Shattered Hand Clan’s territory after destroying its beast pens and preventing the wolf riders from pursuing them. At the edge of Warsong territory, the gladiators parted ways, while Yrel and the Draenei set out for home.

  • Yrel led the gladiators in an assault on the Shattered Hand Clan’s beast pens, where they killed the guards and slaughtered the direwolves and kodos.
  • Scorchscar Kirok arrived with his wolf-rider vanguard and found the pens destroyed, while the escaped gladiators had already crossed the river.
  • Yrel stopped near the Nagrand plains and explained that the group had left the Shattered Hand Clan’s territory and could avoid its main forces by entering Warsong territory.
  • Yrel saluted the gladiators and told them she had to return to Shattrath while they could each head for home.
  • The gladiators thanked Yrel and departed in groups, leaving her with the Draenei, whom she led toward home.

Ch. 858Genedar [First Update]

Yrel and Ye Ting led nearly a hundred Draenei toward Shattrath to warn their people of the Horde’s impending assault. When Yrel sensed a Holy Light-like call from the south, they changed course and reached Oshu'gun, where Ye Ting explained the spirits she could see and the Naaru’s connection to the mountain.

  • Yrel’s group traveled through Nagrand under Ye Ting’s Mass Haste spell, racing to reach Shattrath before the Horde attacked.
  • During a rest, Yrel told Ye Ting she felt a benevolent presence calling to her from the south.
  • Ye Ting encouraged Yrel to follow the call, and she led the Draenei away from their route to Shattrath.
  • The group arrived at Oshu'gun, where Yrel saw translucent Orcish spirits that the others could not see.
  • Ye Ting explained that the spirits were Orc ancestors drawn to the mountain by the trapped Naaru K'ure, and that Oshu'gun was the crashed Draenei spaceship.

Ch. 859Child of Light and Shadow [Third Update]

Yrel connected with K'ure and learned how the Naaru had brought the Draenei to Draenor, as well as why K'ure was nearing death. She understood that K'ure's grievous injuries made it impossible to save by simply giving it more Light, and the chapter ended with its image before her.

  • Yrel approached the Naaru and recognized that it had been calling to her, while Ye Ting sensed that its music carried pain.
  • Yrel heard K'ure's thoughts and saw the Genedar crash onto Draenor, where it became the crystal mountain of Oshu'gun.
  • Yrel learned that K'ure was one of the Naaru who had saved the Draenei and was close to turning into the Shadow creature Entropius.
  • K'ure revealed that K'ara had attacked the other Naaru after being consumed by Void energy, and Velen had cast K'ara from the Genedar at great cost to himself.
  • Yrel learned that D'ore had died and that K'ure's severe wounds caused it to leak Light, so supplying it with more Light could not heal it.

Ch. 860Seeing One's True Nature [Second Update]

Ye Ting used the Third Magic and the philosophy of yin and yang to help Yrel control the Holy Light and Shadow within her. Yrel achieved a dynamic balance between the two powers and gained the ability to use them without disrupting that balance.

  • Ye Ting recognized that Yrel was suffering from a state of qi deviation because she could not control the Holy Light and Shadow within her.
  • Ye Ting tapped Yrel's forehead with the Third Magic, briefly clearing her mind so she could focus.
  • Ye Ting taught Yrel the Yin-Yang School's theories of yin and yang and the Five Elements as a way to understand the relationship between Holy Light and Shadow.
  • Yrel entered a state of enlightenment, and the turmoil between the two energies in her body began to subside.
  • Yrel brought the Holy Light and Shadow into a Taiji-like state in which each power continuously transformed into the other, creating a stable dynamic balance.
