Konoha Is a Village Without History

"That's not true! I just hadn't defeated him yet, and he was about to run away!" Uchiha Sasuke seemed to realize he had misspoken and tried every way he could to cover up his mistake.

Seeing Sasuke's current injuries, Kakashi Hatake was only half-convinced. Was that really what had happened?

"Let's fight! Like before." Uchiha Sasuke challenged Uchiha Feng. The doubts in his heart had yet to be resolved, and he was sending some sort of signal.

Seeing Sasuke like this, Uchiha Feng wondered if he had already acknowledged him.

"Come on!" Uchiha Feng assumed the Crane Hermit School's combat stance. This time, there was not the slightest trace of Uchiha taijutsu in it.

The one doubting him now was Kakashi Hatake, the son of the White Fang of Konoha. Even with Dumpling's telepathy, he could not let down his guard against an elite ninja like him.

Uchiha Sasuke activated his Two-Tomoe Sharingan and stared intently at Uchiha Feng. Yet Uchiha Feng's voice never sounded in his mind, nor did that telepathic sensation come over him.

Kakashi Hatake's attention was drawn to Uchiha Sasuke. "When did this happen? Uchiha Sasuke awakened the Two-Tomoe Sharingan. He really does resemble Obito back then!"

He also wanted to see just how far Uchiha Sasuke, with his two-tomoe Sharingan, could go.

After waiting a long time without receiving any telepathic contact, Uchiha Sasuke produced a shuriken in his hand, but seemed to think of something and put it away again.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

Uchiha Sasuke's fingers flew through hand seals, and he spat flames from his mouth toward Uchiha Feng.

This time, Kakashi did not intervene at all. This Great Fireball Jutsu was far too slow. Even Uchiha Feng before any training could have dodged it. After his basic training, he could evade it with ease.

Uchiha Feng faced the fireball head-on and felt the heat wave rushing toward him.

Yet, contrary to what Kakashi Hatake expected, he did not dodge.

"Turtle School: Fire-Blowing Palm!"

A surge of energy gathered in one of Uchiha Feng's hands and shot toward the fireball.

The powerful energy forced the fireball to change direction, forming an indestructible wall as it barreled toward Uchiha Sasuke.

The ground was gouged with dents more than ten centimeters deep, as though it had been plowed by a bulldozer.

Kakashi stared at the scene before him in equal disbelief.

It was practically an S-rank wind-style ninjutsu that required no hand seals. It directly suppressed the fireball, and its destructive power was equally formidable.

"Chidori: Lightning Cutter!"

Chirp, chirp~~

Amid a piercing chirping sound, a blade of lightning appeared in Kakashi Hatake's hand and pierced the energy wall.

Crack, crack~

Pfft~

The energy wall shattered, turning into violent gusts that blasted Kakashi Hatake and Uchiha Sasuke in the face, leaving them dusty and disheveled.

"What exactly was that?" Uchiha Sasuke stared at the scene before him in disbelief.

Was that really something he could have blocked?

Uchiha Feng had actually mastered such powerful strength! Did the Land of Iron truly have techniques like that?

"You already took out a ninja tool, so why didn't you use it to test him? Did you think you were invincible just because you have the Sharingan?"

Kakashi reprimanded Uchiha Sasuke while correcting his mistake.

"Kid, what kind of technique was that? It didn't even require hand seals, and it wasn't chakra either?" Kakashi Hatake was equally puzzled.

He seemed to have seen this kind of power before, yet it was different.

"It's a move from the Turtle School, a martial arts dojo in the Land of Iron." Uchiha Feng spoke mysteriously.

The so-called Fire-Blowing Palm was a preliminary exercise Master Roshi used to train his disciples' control over energy. It was preparation for learning the Kamehameha.

When Son Goku and Krillin trained back then, they practiced while working. One of their tasks involved using energy to alter and control flames in order to roast hunted prey.

Gohan, little Goku's grandfather, had even used the Fire-Blowing Palm to land himself a job tending the flames for Lord Lao in the Dragon Ball World.

Little Goku had also used the Kamehameha to extinguish the flames of Flaming Mountain for a short time. That, too, was an application of energy.

"Does the Land of Iron really have such a miraculous dojo?" Kakashi Hatake voiced his doubts. He had traveled far and wide on missions, yet had never seen the sort of dojo Uchiha Feng described.

"How many years has your Land of Fire even existed? Samurai existed long before ninja. Besides, Konoha is a village without history!"

Uchiha Feng struck back without the slightest restraint.

Perhaps according to the original course of history, the Land of Fire would become the strongest nation. But now that he was here, things would change.

"Kid, you really don't hold back!" Kakashi Hatake was provoked by Uchiha Feng's last remark. A village without history?

"Still, your Third Hokage really is powerful, to be called the strongest Hokage~" Uchiha Feng continued provoking Kakashi Hatake. "Though I suppose it makes sense. The Third Hokage has held office longer than the other three Hokage combined."

"Kid, you're asking for a beating!" Kakashi Hatake had to stop him. If words like that reached the Third Hokage's ears, even he would be implicated.

At the side, Uchiha Sasuke was seriously considering Uchiha Feng's words.

The Third Hokage? Was Uchiha Feng trying to convey some message to him?

He recalled his previous suspicions and the examination Iruka Umino had suddenly added.

Wasn't it an examination on that nonsensical Will of Fire?

Iruka Umino did not have the authority to suddenly add an exam for their class.

School had been delayed, yet not only had his own parents failed to pick him up, even the parents of Konoha's major clans were not worried?

"Are you really not going to train anymore? You paid so much money, and I happen to have free time these days," Kakashi Hatake suddenly asked.

Uchiha Feng became immediately wary. What was this about? This did not fit Kakashi Hatake's personality. Had he already begun suspecting him, or was he curious about something?

"Money is the most useless thing to me! Do you know what the greatest tragedy is? It's not being alive without money, but dying before you've spent it all. What matters most is strength—the strength to live the life you want."

Uchiha Feng put on an unconcerned air, but he was also describing his current situation.

Through Sarutobi Ippei, he had tried to issue group missions, only to be told that Konoha's ninja were stretched too thin to carry them out.

That meant his plan had succeeded.

Dumpling and Yajirobe had been monitoring them as well, and had learned roughly how Konoha's personnel were being shifted around.
