Background / History

Sasuke returns to the Uchiha compound during the night of the clan massacre. Uchiha Feng notices his entry through the barrier, while Feng's clone later uses Sasuke as leverage against Itachi. Sasuke is injured during the incident, including the loss of a little finger, before Itachi ensures he is delivered to the Third Hokage. 1 2 4 5

The massacre leaves Sasuke severely traumatized. Seeing Dumpling's photograph causes a panic attack and awakens his Sharingan; as further memories surface, his left eye develops a second tomoe.
