"Truck? There seems to be one nearby. I remember one of the cargo trucks we scattered around was in the area." Jingwei spoke as she waved toward a street not far away.

The roar of an engine sounded, and a huge, brand-new cargo truck slowly drove over. It was one of the trucks the Salvation Army had brought at Shen Feng's request.

Shen Feng nodded.

"Good. They can come out and lend a hand."

As he spoke, he controlled the nursing robot to walk up to the truck and press a hand against its cargo compartment.

The Consciousness Tentacles connected to the truck through the nursing robot's communications system again, and the tightly shut cargo doors immediately opened.

A blast of cold air poured from the compartment, bringing waves of refreshing coolness even in the scorching desert climate.

Inside were two rows of metal racks connected by all manner of cables, five on the left and five on the right. Fiberglass incubation chambers sat atop the racks, stretching all the way to the roof.

A sleeping person lay inside each incubation chamber.

The nursing robot controlled by Shen Feng's Consciousness Tentacles sent out an awakening signal while clapping its hands and saying in a muffled voice, "Wake up, the sun's shining on your asses. Time to get up and work!"

Jingwei stood nearby holding a stack of clothes she had found in an apartment next door. She tossed them into the compartment and looked at the massive cargo bay.

"Not bad, they've been properly pickled. About time to use them. But these clones haven't undergone consciousness backup transfer, so once they're out, they'll only be puppets under your control. It feels a little wasteful to use them like this. Shouldn't they be saved as reincarnation bodies for when you die?"
