Background / History

Liu Erlong established Blue Tyrant Academy with backing from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Family, which supplied funding, connections, procedures, an advanced-academy model, and temporary administrators from Thunder Academy. Its first intake contained only seventy-eight students; later graduating classes became part of its teaching staff as the academy expanded. 58 328

Although Liu Erlong is headmaster, most of the academy's systems and facilities were created by her adopted son, Ye Qingcang. He began taking primary responsibility for teaching after awakening his Martial Soul at age six, while many teachers remained or returned to teach because of his guidance. 328

The academy originally remained obscure in Heaven Dou City because of its unusual policy of accepting only Commoner Soul Masters. Its reputation changed when Heaven Ranking students challenged and smashed the plaques of numerous Heaven Dou advanced academies, and when Ye Qingcang and Qian Renxue helped purge Evil Spirit Masters during the Heaven Dou Palace Coup. 96

Blue Tyrant Academy has also participated extensively in campaigns against Evil Spirit Masters. After student casualties from retaliatory attacks, it established a Must-Kill List that increased bounty rewards tenfold for listed targets; the academy's efforts were credited with at least one-sixth of the overall purge. 28
