Background / History

Xie Xie was born with innate full soul power and the twin martial souls Light Dragon Dagger and Shadow Dragon Dagger. Although considered a rare genius in East Sea City, his two martial souls must absorb soul rings simultaneously, while his spiritual power is initially weak; these factors lead others to doubt his future potential. 20

Initially proud, rebellious, and unwilling to attend a soul master academy, Xie Xie is provoked by his father after learning of Jiang Yan's Dragon King martial soul. He agrees to enroll at East Sea Academy on the condition that he may stop attending if he defeats Jiang Yan. 20

After arriving at the academy, Xie Xie challenges Jiang Yan. His Light Dragon Blade and Shadow Dragon Blade are both overwhelmed by Jiang Yan's Dragon God suppression, and he is defeated without Jiang Yan needing to physically attack him. Humbled by the overwhelming difference in their martial souls, Xie Xie asks to call Jiang Yan “Boss.” 21

Jiang Yan accepts him as a younger brother on the condition that he does not hold the group back. Xie Xie joins Wei Xiaofeng, Zhang Yangzi, and Wang Jinxi as part of Jiang Yan's circle, later known as the East Sea F5. 22 24
