Background

Xiao Wu grew up in the Star Dou Forest under the care of her mother, A Rou, alongside Da Ming, Er Ming, and Nezha. Before A Rou's death, she was carefree and spoiled by her family, treating Nezha as one of her own and struggling to understand his worries. 1 6

When A Rou sent a distress signal during Spirit Hall's hunt, Xiao Wu detected her mother's aura from a great distance and rushed to the battlefield with Da Ming and Er Ming. A Rou was killed during the conflict, leaving Xiao Wu grief-stricken and consumed by the resolve to avenge her. 12 20 21

She chose to take human form both because her bloodline gave her poor prospects of surviving the two-hundred-thousand-year heavenly tribulation and because human cultivation offered a path to reach Spirit City and kill Bibi Dong. The transformation cost her hundred-thousand-year cultivation, but granted her a new human life and innate full soul power. 21 22

She initially overwhelmed Bibi Dong with extreme speed and a relentless series of kicks, but Bibi Dong's Soul Devouring Spider Emperor form reversed the battle. Xiao Wu suffered poison wounds to her abdomen and hind leg, then used Invincible Golden Body to survive and retreat. 16 17
