Background

Xiao Wu grew up in the Star Dou Forest under the care of her mother, A Rou, alongside Da Ming, Er Ming, and Nezha. Before A Rou's death, she was carefree and spoiled by her family, treating Nezha as one of her own and struggling to understand his worries. 1 6

When A Rou sent a distress signal during Spirit Hall's hunt, Xiao Wu detected her mother's aura from a great distance and rushed to the battlefield with Da Ming and Er Ming. A Rou was killed during the conflict, leaving Xiao Wu grief-stricken and consumed by the resolve to avenge her. 12 20 21

She chose to take human form both because her bloodline gave her poor prospects of surviving the two-hundred-thousand-year heavenly tribulation and because human cultivation offered a path to reach Spirit City and kill Bibi Dong.
