The young man was not very strong; to her, he was no different from the ice silkworms found everywhere in the Far North.
Yet for some reason, she simply could not refuse him. That sense of closeness kept her from shaking off his hand, until the ring finally fell into her palm.
"Yuhao, you gave the 'Ice Extreme War God Armor' to Mom. What will you do now?"
"That's great! With the 'Ice Extreme War God Armor,' Mom won't have to fear Di Tian anymore!" Little White and Er Bai spoke at the same time. One spoke from Huo Yuhao's perspective, while the other spoke from Snow Emperor's.
"It's fine. Now that I no longer have Ultimate Ice, it can display greater power in Snow Emperor's hands." Huo Yuhao rubbed Er Bai's head. Although Little White and Er Bai shared the same soul imprint and memories, their experiences had ultimately been very different, and they now saw things from different perspectives.
"Besides, once my strength rises, making another one will only be a matter of time," Huo Yuhao said confidently.
Hearing Huo Yuhao's words, Er Bai came back to his senses. His grandfather was best at creating miracles, after all, and he no longer felt dejected.
"Snow Emperor, I want to meet the Sea Princess as soon as possible," Huo Yuhao said to the somewhat stunned Snow Emperor.
Snow Emperor came back to her senses, glanced at the young man, and nodded.
She then took the lead, flying toward the Ice Sea, with Ice Empress following close behind. Er Bai scooped Huo Yuhao into his palm again and followed them, leaving Little White at the rear.
None of them were slow. After flying at top speed for more than two hours, they crossed a stretch of sea filled with floating ice and arrived above another part of the Ice Sea, where glaciers stood in dense clusters.
The sea soul beasts that had been there had long since fled without a trace, terrified by the group's powerful auras.
With a lift of her hand, a golden conch appeared in Snow Emperor's grasp. She brought it to her lips and blew gently. No sound emerged, but everyone present had some understanding of spiritual power, and they could feel the spiritual ripple pierce straight through the surface of the sea.
Beneath the sea, Sea Princess Eve, who had been playing with her two daughters, suddenly seemed to sense something. Her expression turned extremely grave. Why had Snow Emperor blown her conch at a time like this?
Years ago, during the battle in which Snow Emperor unified the Far North, the two of them had fought once. Because of their martial soul fusion skills, neither had been able to do anything to the other.
But Sea Princess knew that she had lost. Yet because of Sea God Island, they had completely divided their respective jurisdictions over the Ice Sea and the Northern Ice Plains. Within the Far North, any sea soul beast that came onto a glacier or land fell under Snow Emperor's authority, and the reverse was likewise true.
As a token of their agreement, she had given Snow Emperor her conch. It was a conch unique to her, and only she could hear the spiritual ripples it produced.
"What is it, Mom?" A girl with long blue hair and a pure golden fishtail looked at her mother with sparkling eyes and asked curiously.
"It's time for you two to meet her. She is an old friend, and also a formidable enemy."
"Lijing, gather the hundred strongest members of our clan and rise to the surface with me."
Sea Princess Eve stroked her younger daughter's hair, her eyes filled with affection, then turned to instruct her elder daughter, whose bearing was far steadier.
The people standing on the ice waited. About half an hour later, clusters of bubbles burst across the sea's surface.
Heads emerged one after another from the water, with Sea Princess at their head.
When Sea Princess saw Snow Emperor and the others standing on the ice by the shore, she frowned. "Snow Emperor, why have you summoned me today?"
"Sea Princess, I am not the one looking for you today. I am merely passing along a message," Snow Emperor said calmly.
As she spoke, Snow Emperor shifted aside, revealing Huo Yuhao behind her.
Sea Princess looked up and saw the ice bear with an exceedingly terrifying aura gently lower its paw, revealing a human boy of twelve or thirteen.
With a sweep of his gaze, Huo Yuhao spotted that familiar figure. Liya looked slightly younger than before, around fourteen or fifteen years old. Her eyes brimmed with innocence and liveliness, and she looked far more spirited than she had in the God Realm.
But Huo Yuhao only dared to glance at her once before fixing his eyes on Sea Princess's face. The merfolk's attire was still the same as when he had seen it before: their upper bodies were covered only by two shells over the important areas, perhaps with pearls and gemstones as decoration at most, and nothing else.
"Honorable Sea Princess, I am the one who wished to see you." Huo Yuhao placed one hand over his chest and performed a knight's salute.
"A human? What do you want?" Sea Princess frowned. This human's aura was far too weak, yet he had managed to enlist Snow Emperor to summon her.
"I wish to make a deal with you," Huo Yuhao said evenly.
As Snow Emperor watched the young man make another deal with Sea Princess, she felt a slight discomfort in her heart, but quickly cast it aside.
"A deal? Human, I do not believe you possess anything worth exchanging for." Sea Princess rejected him without ceremony. There were countless treasures in the ocean. In her eyes, perhaps only the heart of the Star Dou Great Forest possessed treasures worthy of her attention. What good could such a weak human possibly have?
"The terms of my deal are a method that allows dying soul beasts to continue living in another form." Huo Yuhao's tone remained calm, but his words shocked every soul beast present.
What did he mean by a method of continuing to live in another form? Snow Emperor and Ice Empress could not help turning their gazes toward the two identical bear faces.
Little White and Er Bai grinned at the same time, revealing foolish smiles.
"What do you mean by that?" Sea Princess frowned. Her lineage was special; they could naturally switch between human and mermaid forms. Yet they were still soul beasts, and they were still subject to Douluo Continent's restrictions on soul beasts. It was merely because of this special trait that, after transforming into humans, they could gain longer lifespans than pure-blooded human soul masters. In this generation, one of their clansmen had known she could not survive the hundred-thousand-year heavenly tribulation and had chosen to cultivate anew. She had now become the Sea Maiden Douluo on Sea God Island.
"Spirit souls?" At that moment, an unexpected voice rang out, and everyone turned toward its source.
Liya floated in the water, her golden fishtail swaying gently. There was a hint of inquiry and curiosity on her face. Sunlight shone upon her, making her seem to glow faintly.
Eve looked at her younger daughter, who had suddenly spoken up, and a glint flashed through her eyes.
Liya's talent was the greatest apart from her own, and she possessed a special ability that even Eve had not inherited: "mind reading."
However, this mind-reading ability could only read those weaker than herself. Aside from the people Eve had brought with her, the human boy who had appeared last was the weakest person present. Had Liya spoken because she had read something from him?
